Over the summer collegiate waterskiers sent in sets to compete against one another in a, *UNOFFICIAL* virtual competition. Slalom scores were self-reported by the skiers, trick scores were judged by a panel of scorers, and jumps were scored based off of time in the air.

Additional points were awarded to teams by either wearing bibs in videos (+10), or by sharing the initial tournament announcement on social media (+50/share).

Thank you all who participated in the virtual tournament, and especially thank you to Jack Phillipson, Ben Smogard, and Dylan Wick who took time out of their day to score the trick skiers!!!

In alphabetical order these teams had skiers participate in the first WLCW Virtual Tournament:

University of Akron -- @UAWaterski

Iowa State University -- @Iowa_state_waterski

Kansas University -- @KUWaterski

University of Michigan -- @UMich_Waterski

Michigan State University -- @MSUWaterski

University of Nebraska -- @NebraskaWaterski

The Ohio State University -- @OSUWaterski

University of Wisconsin-Madison -- @WisconsinWaterski

Very cool!

Another option may be to have a "tournament" that is made up of a teams best summer scores. Before college tournaments start each skier (ideally 5 men and women for each event from each team) would send in their best tournament score and overall performance that could then decide the team summer champion. It may encourage more college students to ski AWSA tournaments.

@klindy thank you! It was a ton of fun putting together!

@bojans Thanks! And that's a great idea, either the NCWSA or Midwest Collegiate Region did something similar in 2019, but it was entirely participation based. I think the idea of avoiding scores was to not give the teams with pro skiers another advantage
