Baller malibuowner Posted January 22, 2023 Baller Share Posted January 22, 2023 What are you all using between your binding plate and ski. Just went to switch my binding to a new ski and what ever was there stuck partially to the ski and partially to the plate destroying it. Â What are your recommendations? Baller ETskier Posted January 22, 2023 Baller Share Posted January 22, 2023 The 3M prolock works great. (1 side attached to ski) Once you get your binding pkates snugged down, you rarely will have to tighten your screws again.
Baller aupatking Posted January 23, 2023 Baller Share Posted January 23, 2023 Honestly, I just go to Walmart or dollar general and get a roll of clear plastic kitchen drawer liner. It works fantastic and like @Gloersensaid, seems to help keep screws fairly tight. Possibly reduces vibration on the screws, I guess. No ski rash and, it’s cheap
Baller BlueSki Posted January 23, 2023 Baller Share Posted January 23, 2023 (edited) This might be the stuff that reflex uses.  It popped up at the bottom of the Home Depot link from @Gloersen   1/16 in rubber foam at HD Edited January 23, 2023 by BlueSki

Baller Nando Posted January 30, 2023 Baller Share Posted January 30, 2023 Foam sheets from Hobby Lobby or some similar store- 99 cents a sheet. Just cut around the binding plate with an Xacto knife and punch holes for the screws. Takes about 5 minutes and works great to protect the ski top and keep screws tight. Multiple colors, too 😉

Baller Deanoski Posted February 15, 2023 Baller Share Posted February 15, 2023 no pads  I personally remove all pads from my front and back plates.
Baller aupatking Posted February 16, 2023 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2023 Thin but strong WalMart/Dollar General drawer liner. I think foam would dampen feeling. Maybe not enough to matter, but when Andy said remove all foam, I remove all foam 😅. Zero binding/ski rash since going this route several years and dozens of skis ago.
Baller skialex Posted February 16, 2023 Baller Share Posted February 16, 2023 I’m not a very big fun of boot pads, especially the thick ones. They tend to stay wet for weeks after use and moisture penetrates the ski surface. I don’t know if this is a thing or it is just non important foggy look or peeled layer, just don’t like to see it on my ski. I use g10 or reflex plates with perfect countersunks and sanded edges and by doing so, my skis look good when I remove the bindings. Not all ski brands have this issue though.
