Our ski jump in located outside of Houston so it is exposed to a ton of sun and heat. The surface has not been redone for 10 years.  What are the common paint materials to put on a surface these days.  What is best to protect from UV rays? We will power wash and clean the surface and side curtains before applying new product.  Thank you.

Most people use a red/orange gel coat, however our last rework of our jump surface we used red Rustoleum and it has held up amazingly well.  Much easier than gelcoat.

Surface prep is essential.  You MUST remove all wax.  We washed with acetone, then used a belt sander with 60 grit.  Be sure to remove  all dust.  What is your surface currently?  That may impact sanding, etc.

I’ve done a two part epoxy. Lasted well. The only areas that have Ben a problem were where we didn’t have continuous fiberglass mat coverage
