Is anyone considering this propeller? Very pricey at 4.9k but looks promising. Better fuel economy and the wake looks amazing. They have a testing and development department. Maybe we can arrange some testing of their props on ski boats.

I recently changed my prop on my 2006 SN 206 from the Acme 422 to the OJ 428 4 blade Ski Pro per @Jody_Seal recommendation on Planet Nautique. The consensus is that that wake is better and softer. Hard to tell because the Acme 422 is a great prop.

  2. Malibu's deteriorate fast in salt. Mine everything rusted out in 3 years. Going on 4 years now with my Nautique. Night and day better. Get a lift to keep it out of the water unless you are going to trailer it.

I have a routine down that seems to work well staving off the rust as best as possible.

  3. Her Diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had

made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was

shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was

upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no

comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested

that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed,

but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; he

said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was

upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do

with me, and not to worry about it.

On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't

know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.'

When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as

if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat

there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem

distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I

decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to

bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts

were somewhere else. He fell asleep -- I cried.

I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts

are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

    His Diary:

Boat wouldn't start; can't figure out why.

  4. Old wooden Chris Craft- big wake

Zodiac Inflatable with 40 hp Suzuki Tiller-no wake

97 Centurion-sizable hump in middle wake

Malibu Response LX-nice wake, a little lip

    2014 Moomba-great wake, soft

    Axis Wakeboard with Surfgate-big wake

Ebtide IO Wakeboard-long hard deep start, wake smooths out at 36 mph

  5. I like the Connelly Carbon V. Very stable but capable ski. Easier deep starts than the HO CX superlite The HO Attack bindings are comfortable. You may want to look into the OB4 or Reflex releasing systems to protect your ankle, then get the most comfortable boot.
  6. I recently found that this issue of mold has happened to me. I ordered two Davis dehumidifiers and this solar vent fan by Eco-Worthy.

    http://www.amazon.com/ECO-WORTHY-Solar-Powered-Venting-Stainless/dp/B00I1D4S9C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460399766&sr=8-1&keywords=solar+eco+vent

I plan on putting the vent into the cover. It runs a small fan slowly constant all day and into the night until the battery runs out then recharges during the daytime while the fan runs. Hopefully this will do the trick.

  7. I have a hydrohoist in Carlsbad Lagoon. I got it used from a neighbor already set up for a 1999 Malibu Response LX for $3,500. New they are $ 6,500 plus. Best bet is to find a used one on Craigslist. They are like owning a second boat, things need to be repaired. This one had lots of things replaced before I bought it. I have replaced 4 valves. Works great. It would run on a small Honda generator or a 12 volt solar conversion.

I think you are better off with the cantilever attached to the bottom unless your lake depth varies then the floating version can move with your dock.
