  1. How does the Freeride compare to the Triumph? Can you go slower with the Freeride than the Triumph? My Triumph feels like it is sinking slower than 30 mph. Just thinking of a ski to learn the course at slower speeds. Plus it sounds fun! Not sure it is worth the $ 369. Thoughts?
  2. Hello,

Craig Huenergardt from Vista, Ca. I am a dentist in Oceanside, CA and work three days per week. I am 54 years old and ski a 69" Triumph with Attack Bindings and a 69"HO Coefficient XL with Attacks.

I never skied regularly as a child. I used to beg my dad to take me. He had a friend with a boat at Clear Lake, CA. In college I had an inflatable Zodiac with a 40 hp out board that would pull me up on a single ski at 212 lbs. Interesting to have your ski boat in your apartment closet. Lake Perris and Lake Silverwood while I was in dental school at Loma Linda. At Lake Perris you would cut and see a wall of green algae.

Many trips to Ensenada, Baja and skiing behind the Zodiac and with the dolphins. We would ski right outside the breakers early morning.

Last spring 2013 I started buying tows at California Watersports for $78 per tow with a 12 half hour card. More like 5 minutes at first. Back problems slowed me down and I bought Fluid Motions harness which helps take the pressure off my back. I got addicted to it and had a patient with a boat at the lagoon who took me for tows. I could see that $78 a few times a week was going to get expensive quick. So I bought a 1999 Malibu Response LX. Skied three times today! Loving it. Never skied the course.

Always looking for people to drive the boat and to ski with.

  3. Just got solar for my home in North County San Diego. The ROI for my investment is 4.5 years to pay for the cost to install. After that my electric bill is essentially free. I will be saving $ 550 per month or $ 6,600 per year. Plus Socal rates are expected to go up another 25%. My panels are Axitech made in Germany. Expected output at 25 years at 85% and around 80% at 40 years. Each panel is monitored and optimized for peak output. It would be great to put in a system for the pump and all 6 homes.
  4. Just got the boat today. Very clean and well maintained. Interior looks great. Having the boat serviced, tuned up and closed cooling installed before it goes in salt.

It is doable on my own, but having a partner to share costs has always been beneficial. I have a fishing boat with three partners. Need to make sure each partner is a clean freak and has the $$. I live 10 min away and nice to ski often. Looking to up my skill level and fitness level. Carlsbad Lagoon is the best game in town. Also has a course, but not ready for it yet.

  5. I really liked the new Triumph. I could feel the ski getting squirrely when I tried to stand up out of the ball position. Couldn't lean back quick enough before I went over the top. So getting close. I went from a big daddy this spring with an easy up handle to a Triumph 71" then bought a triumph 69" double boot attack bindings. My wife likes the Triumph also so I thought I would move up. So maybe moving up too quickly and changing from the easy up handle to a reg handle and also to a new ski is too much all at once.

I might try the CoXL with the easy up and a rear toe plate and throw the Triumph in the boat for back up.

Frustrating when I was getting up consistently on the Triumph.
