  1. Very sorry to hear that. It truly is a tragedy. He and his girlfriend, his friends and family are in my thoughts and prayers.
  2. Kinda bummed that my '13 Freeride is missing that technology, but the bevel-less tail probably plays a bigger roll in decreasing drag than the textured base. My fiancé rides that thing for miles at a time as it is. Would be cool to see some sort of back to back comparison on a more course-oriented ski where the textured surface was the only change from '13-'14.
  3. Very cool! I actually prefer version 2.0 with the updated music. Great camera angles, man. I would be slightly tense watching a 7D, with what I assume is a top notch lens, hovering 50 ft over water. That drone must be pretty stout.
  4. I think it was the best ski for me until the '14 came out, but it's sooooo much better than what I was on before. Not worth buying the new one.
  5. "I'm a righty" is the correct choice for me right now.
  6. In high school, I worked for a photographer shooting weddings, sports events, portraits, etc.
  7. Heck yes. Try 27 mph. The fun thing about free skiing is that more speed is just a thumbs up away. Teach as many people to ski as you can with that thing. The Freeride is a gateway drug.
  8. I agree about the 67". You could always just speed the boat up a bit if you feel like you're sinking. It's a fun ski! Great for converting wakeboarding fiancés.
  9. @TustinTom, crazy indeed. A guy I work with had a muscle on his boat, allegedly, so they pressure washed the whole thing and wanted to impound it. Apparently they can only do one or the other, though, and they'd already p-washed it. Sorry, OT. A thorough cleaning is worth the effort!
  10. +1 for the homemade elixirs... Last season I used an eyeballed 1/3 Eagle One spray wax, 1/3 white vinegar, 1/3 distilled water immediately after pulling my boat out of the water. It works wonders after 3-4 days of 100+ degree abuse on 35 year old gel coat in the Colo. River system. Microfibers are the way to go. It might be coincidence, but we get waived right through quagga inspections when the boat is glossy and free of water spots.
  11. No one should ever live in a condo in Cleveland.
  12. My buddy's boat is called OT (as in Overtime), so I jokingly call mine Borrowed Time. It has a big carbed 2-stroke outboard and will probably be illegal everywhere in a few years.
  13. Definition of rational. And ^^^THAT^^^ is beautiful.
  14. I don't much care for the hordes of Atlantic stingrays and alligators. Manatees are pretty sweet, though.
  15. Mine just showed up, according to my fiancé. Apparently, they had just run out of the Nitro Bombs I ordered. They immediately sent me an email apologizing and asking if I'd like a pair of the updated Nitro2 glasses or a refund. The email went to my spam folder where I found it over a week later. They immediately upgraded me to the more expensive glasses, free of charge once I responded. I get home from work tomorrow morning, so I haven't seen the yet, but I can say that their customer service is terrific.
  16. @GOODESkier, Yes. There were also 7 people on that boat. Nothing about it was ideal, but I did get to ski. Was planning to have a new-to-me Response LX out there yesterday and ski the course :/
  17. I love my Freeride, too. You can't lose with a P-6 though. I have my eyes open for a super cheap P-6 or Triumph to throw in the boat for my 200+ lb friends who want to learn to ski. All three of these skis are wide. My Freeride is only a 67". Radar Satori looks fun too, but there doesn't seem to be much buzz about it.
  18. The Malibu RLX I was going to look at before heading to the lake sold, so I ended up free skiing behind my buddy's Yamaha wakeboard jet boat, with expected results.
  19. O_O Should probably put on a rash guard. And pants.
  20. Southern California, about two miles east of LA County... 81 degrees at 9:40 am right now with high winds here and there is a brush fire blowing this way. Evacuations are in place five miles east of me. We should be fine. The air is getting nasty, though. I'm still planning to ski tomorrow.
  21. Haven't skied yet, but planning to go out on Thursday. It can't get here soon enough.
  22. My buddy and I have Thursday off and it's supposed to be 96 degrees. We care not about the water temp with air like that. After our session, I'm going to look at a '96 Malibu RLX if the guy hasn't sold it. Let the games begin.
