  1. A cleaner wax and simple green.
  2. I’m wondering how many first hand experiences people have had with trick skiers getting caught in the rope during ski lines? I regularly ski with one other person so having a release person is generally not an option, given that I still need to work on developing new tricks namely In this case SLO. Thoughts?
  3. @eleeski your right I see a lot more soft core hard shell hybrid rollerblade boots. I wonder if some of those might actually work okay assuming the footbed is solid? Wake board boots have gone that way soft boot with a snowboard like binding. You couldn’t mount buckles to the show part but they may lace better.
  4. Adding one thing because I do see a lot of trickers with reflex and no shin problems could my back binding placement be off, where should the back foot be in terms of spacing, offset and angle? Advantages and disadvantages?
  5. I’ve been using a Wiley binding on my trick for a long time but I’m not in love with it, my sets are limited due to cramping and I feel like the high wrap is to high. I’ve used the reflex but I have a tendency to bash my shin on the release and that feels terrible. For clarification I’m talking hand pass set up. Anyway are there more compact heal releases or is there a no release setup option? Let’s hear it!
  6. You can definitely try it. I know right after the A3 they were making the VT-R’s to be long shallow skis. Not sure where your numbers are currently but I found my A3 settings to be my preference on the HO Pro so the skis seem to be compatible with settings. They released both a short/deep and long/shallow factory setting for the pro. It’s available here https://www.hosports.com/pdf/ho-skis-settings-chart-2019.pdf
  7. Olympia Beer has the slogan “It’s the water.” We name a tournament after that.
  8. @RichardDoane what are the baofeng radios that you use?
  9. It’s time to get new radios for the tournament kit and I want quality radios that transmit clearly and reliably. I thought it would be simple and straightforward but the radio world seems to be complex and there can be issues involving the FCC and interference with local emergency services. I’m not oppose to walking the line as long as I can become informed and understand what I’m doing if it means I have an above par setup. So let’s hear it, what’s out there, what’s the best, what’s the safest, advantages and disadvantages. Go!
  10. I ordered from skier to skier weeks ago and it was shipped from Florida....
  11. I see lots of skiers modifying ropes. It appears that often a non stretch rope on the skier end is being attached to a stretchy poly rope on the pylon end for hand passes. What details can you share? Are you using slalom rope sections? What kind of knot is used to connect them?
  12. It’s like a lot of things, intuitively what seems right or effective isn’t actually productive and we don’t really see this until it’s put to the test at the hardest degree. When we begin to ski we are rewarded by committing to the lean and carrying the speed and angle through the wakes and out to the buoy. This process continues to develop and become more and more effective as a skier progresses through the line lengths to 35. But then comes 38 and beyond where this archetype no longer works. Uh oh... fortunately years of outstanding athletes and collective minds have defined essential elements of skiing that run short line (sub course width) line lengths. They are tried and true and consistently executed by today’s elite. The elements are not intuitively developed during the common learning process and often defy logic to short sited 35’ers who feel they won’t make it to the buoy width unless they commit and get a really long pull. The transition near centerline ski path creates the ski path and arc space to keep skiing and rounding buoys even though the actual loading duration is shorter.
  13. Good insight @jetsetr. I definitely see where a HANS device is much more robust and effective for neck related injuries. @Rednucleus I good point, during an off crash it could definitely bucket. My personal whiplash occurs during landings, if I am too far back my head snaps back upon landing like being rear ended in a car, these are jumps I ski away from but suffer from pain and weakness in days to follow. I am hoping that a combo between helmet and collar device can limit the range of movement of my head and neck and decrease or prevent whiplash.
  14. I was thinking this shaped collar, i pulled this off another thread when I quickly followed up on Todd’s BFC neck collar suggestion. This one is originally marketed for football I believe.
  15. I see a lot of skiers using neck support for jumping and I am curious what products are out there?
  16. I Love that there is coverage but I have seriously wasted time waiting for jump. It’s been 3 hours since slalom ended, there was wake boarding in there but seriously I can’t say that watching the masters live coverage from home is the best way to spend Memorial Day weekend.
  17. I really hope they don’t waste the footage. Why go through all the work and not archive it?
  18. The official six pack of ballers. Hard pull IPA. Perfect Glass IPA. Reride IPA.
  19. Will the webcast be archived on YouTube like the Swiss pro slalom?
  20. I have a theory that right handed skiers that are left foot forward should use a toe piece and right handed right foot forwards should use double boots and vice versa. If you notice people in general the majority by far will jump skip hop kick etc with their dominant foot and always post up or land on the non dominant one. This makes the non dominant one really great for standing on and therefore more favorable to have in front. If your non dominant foot is up front then you can stand on it confidently and your rear is happy in a kicker. If your non dominant is in the rear then it needs to be held in place because it’s gonna wanna move to find stability if necessary and it will be difficult to have the confidence needed to always stand on the less stable foot. There is more evidence to support the roles of dominant/ non dominant feet id be happy to share and this is just a fun theory I’ve come up with.

  22. There is house for sale on Skiview in Olympia homeowners get unlimited access, and there is no rental program it’s 1.5 hr south of Seattle. Also there is another lake in the area called Maytown, they have a rental program that is very fair.
  23. @Chad_Scott I don't understand. To me the intent for this change is that if your rated open you ski open, for divisions m1, m2 (36mph divisions) B3 could be optional. Same if your a men's 34 mph skier rated for mm in age group m3-m6, under 35 is not eligible to ski MM.l therefore kids wouldn't ski MM. at this point it's probably time to even add a senior masters men's for 32 with all those hot shot guys getting into 39 1/2. Every year that I ski regionals or nationals I at least podium, I never miss. I can post the lowest score of the season and still podium and I see the same faces every year. To win you should have to ski your best not just show up.
  24. I'm not sure what level 10 is, currently it only goes to level 9... I'm open rated for slalom and overall, rated open overall btw means nothing because It does not enable me to carry my other two level 8 events into the open division. To carry a lower rated event into an open competition requires two single events to be level 9 at which point a third event can be carried into the open division. I hear lots of complaining about having to compete against the "real pros" but I don't see Freddy Zack or Taylor competing at nationals, also if you look at Cp Nate, jimmy Siemers etc they are mostly single eventers anymore, maybe this rule would bring them back to 3 event or at least not discourage others from moving away from it. Also lets not forget overall is a prestigious event, in my opinion the most prestigious so to place or win a single event or to place or win overall is huge! the fact is the number of open skiers at regionals and nationals is ridiculously small there usually is less than a podium full and Honestly there are a lot of really good skiers that this rule effects and truth is they probably should be in open, if your this good and it the rule discourages you then I call poor sport, this format should drive these individuals to perform even better. Winning isn't everything but the same people keep winning b3 m1 m2 G3 w1 w2 over and over again all the way up the line and I hear many mid field skiers comment "they should be in open", I for one feel I am stuck in the age based divisions because I value the overall and won't give that up to ski one event in the open and split up my other events. This rule would enable me to potentially place in overall and a single event or two so I am for it!
