I can only speculate on what went wrong at GiveGo. I think Willie ( the GiveGo guy) was over-ambitious and is a "sell it now and apologize later sort of character".  He is a very charismatic entrepreneur. Frankly, I think he dug himself a hole and then kept digging. From what I hear he is personally good guy but based on our business interactions I am sure I will never be on his Christmas card list.

With Baller Video Coaching if your coach does not follow through in a timely manner they will get a personal call from me and you will get your money back ASAP. That is one big difference.

GiveGo also let nearly any coach sign up. Picking and choosing coaches is an admin problem that I will have to think about. What I can say is I saw some examples of GiveGo lessons that were embarrassingly bad. Those bad lessons would be unacceptable in my system. I personally care about the quality of every lesson because BallOfSpray is my brand.

that was going to be my only real question to you was who decides and how do they, on who can be a coach type deal.

  2. best advice i can give, is despite what everyone says, take one thing, and focus on just that to start, then pick another if you are trying to do 3-4 things different you will not fix it.

I would def start with a wider gate however to work on being early to 1 ball, then continue to try to be as early to each buoy as you can. Once you get the gate down, move to the next item to fix..ect..ect

Size 17? Jesus Mike, what boot fits you?

I have a custom reflex, I have a Wiley that has no front horse shoe that I really like, a 2013 HO Xmax

I am thinking I might just get him up on the boom on a single ski (only need 1 boot then) and transition him to long line. Dunno about the hovercraft Mike, he's not that heavy, probably runs 170-180.

they do the hovercraft in 65-67-69 (my sizing might be off) But even if you did a 65 almost anyone can ride it and its a fun ski to just mess around on as well.

How is it that Whitney owns Moomba?  With such variable conditions there, is it a testament to her strength and adaptability?  How do skiers in our hemisphere even prepare for that tournament?

ski on rough days, and just suck it up when they are there pretty much. Nothing else to do.

Volume is the key to reaching peak performance. Holding a peak is dependent on how long you keep volume up. The longer you want as a peak, and the higher the peak is dependent on how long you use volume. I have my best season's when I ski lots of volume. Volume will last approx 3 months, For me that is April May June. I look for High performance in mid July Aug to mid Sept. Peaking in late July early Aug and trying to hold that into Sept. I have used very long volume for a high peak with success. Starting the season with 28 & 32 repeats working up to 12 pass sets. Progressing to running 20 35 back to backs in June. I also use spinning 32 & 35's using 6 pass spins at 32, then 4 pass spins at 35 progressing to 6 pass spins at 35. I work on technique at 28 & 32 in early season back to backs. The 32 & 35 spins create a high level of fitness. After At the ski lake where I train, no one else is there on week days, my driver doesn't love spending 45 minutes driving me, but the results are really good. I'm surprised more water skiers don't use volume training, or periodization. It works for me.

My dad used to only ski 4 passes max when really training...

As for Volume, for his biking career he would ride at least 200 Miles a week.

Hey guys.  I want to get a second Stokes vest.  Any idea if there are any discounted ways to purchase them in our industry?

Your best bet is not asking that way, supporting the small people in the industry or those people tend to disappear.

My take... the shorter the rope and the faster the boat speed the more bad habits you are going to accumulate. Learn to generate your own speed instead of relying on the boat or rope. The biggest hurdle in improving skiing is having to break bad habits. Build your foundation with proper body position, and you will go a long way.

as Andy always said, if your going to free ski you should use the whole rope, get used to making your own speed to create your width, and learn to control the rope.

If someone is passionate enough to watch ski tournaments but isn't a member on Ball of Spray, I would be confused. Or am I overselling the prominence of BOS?

What I mean by that: I would think the huge majority of people who would be people watching and commenting on a ski tournament on YouTube are also Ball of Spray members, so doing a live chat "similar to what YouTube already does except it would be just Ballers" seems like a useless duplication? Viewership is small enough, just keep it on YouTube rather than splitting it into another, even smaller group of viewers lol.

You would be amazed the amount of skiers that have never heard of the site.

I would love to find a fresh 67 Sixam 1.0. Is one of the all-time great skis.

I have a few lol, one is the limited blue and silver, still in plastic, but it will never get skied on, and then I have a non graphic one that was never skied, however I am not sure if it is a completed one, or a test, it just sits with some of my other ones.

I want to host an old ski tournament, where all the skis have to be from pre 2012 i think could be fun, but the logistics of finding and making sure they are all safe to ski on is a nightmare in itself.

@mike_mapple I hear ya on feeling naked and totally agree, but not naked without my Apple Watch, morso my 7 other watches that are much more classy than an Apple Watch. I did try my Apple Watch one time playing hockey and it just didn’t feel right.

I have plenty of other watches, but I refuse to wear some of the ones that were left to me, they are worth to much that if it got stolen I couldnt afford to replace them. I like my apple watch for being able to leave my phone anywhere and then I just use my watch. If Im going out for dinner somewhere nice, I have a few good choices beside an apple watch lol

Is it really that important to track your every move? I have an Apple Watch and like it a lot but can I live without it? Yes! I once knew someone who would flip out if they forgot their tracking device, what difference is it really going to make? You know if your active or not and what you have or have not burned so to say. I could comment more , but I’ll keep it clean for @Horton. Not knocking anyone who loves to keep track , just not that important to me.

im that guy that flips if I leave the house without mine, it isnt for fitness tracking as much, I do use it to track the time frame on my fitness / heartrate sometimes, but I got so used to wearing it, even if i walk out to the mailbox, I put it on, only to take it off when I walk right back inside..My wrist feels naked without it. I lost my first Ultra to a slap shot that hit my glove and shattered it..I dont play with it on anymore lol

    Hi everyone,

Out of curiosity does anyone know what the mens record for 34mph is?

Nate Smiths record of 2.5@43 for 36mph is impressive. Is the record for 34mph more than 2.5 buoys?

Has Nate ran 43 at 34mph? Is that even possible?!

What do you think it'll take to break the 2.5@43, 36mph record?

    Thanks

ive seen a few skiers turn 3 ball at 34mph, never seen anyone get back behind the boat after 4 though personally
