  1. I used double HO animal bindings my whole life until 2 years ago, and I switched to a reflex front, and an animal in the back. Then at the end of 2014 I switched my rear to a wiley. Best change I ever did, you will find the ski extremely responsive, night and day difference. My buoy count jumped when I switched to a reflex, it take time to get used to, but keep on it. Good luck!
  2. I don't know if you still need help on this, @barefooter2baller‌ but in October we went through shipping our 200 from silver spray sports in Michigan to California! We used uship and it was great got here in 2 days, if you would like the guy we used just let me know he was awesome! Enjoy your boat!
  3. I haven't run 39.5 yet, but I have gotten around 5 ball 4or 5 times.

     

    For me it is Technique, patience and confidence.

     

    The more you see the pass, the less weird it will feel. You will be a lot more comfortable, I don't even feel like its 39 because I have gotten used to it.

     

    I definitely watch what I eat, and I ski A LOT. I can only ski about 3 or 4 days a week, but I make every set count.

     

    I think you should try to ski as much as possible, go down to Fl and get coaching for a week, you don't need 6. Shoot 3 days with a great coach can change everything. At 38, 39 and on;the things you do to run those passes are small, and those small changes go a long way.

  4. I've been skiing since I was 5, and was immersed in the sport at a young age! I did pick up volleyball when I was in the 8th grade and played all through high school! I was lucky enough to be on a great team that went really far in playoffs my junior and senior season, I started every game and absolutely loved the sport! It worked out well being volleyball was a spring sport, it would get me in great shape for the summer! Now that I'm out of high school I try to ski year around so I keep my body in waterski shape which helps tremendously!
  5. Hey Nick good skiing! I think if you really focus on a couple things it will really help you.

     

    1. It looks like your pulling out for your gates too early, and getting sucked back in. This will especially hurt you on the shorter line lengths because your forced to pull long to get out one ball and you will already be late.

     

    Think about focusing on pulling out for your gates a little later and staying wider; you will end up wider and earlier at one ball which will set you up for the whole course.

     

    2. On your onside turn 1,3,5, right after you edge change think about moving your center of mass foward, which will help eliminate you falling back at the finish of the turn. Whatever you do in the begging of the turn depicts the end, forward in the beginning means you will finish more on the tip of the ski and will have better angle and speed to the next ball.

  6. I'll be totally honest the first time I read the article I didn't really understand fully. Like @Horton‌ said he mentioned it a few weeks back to me while I was skiing, and broke it down a little more in depth. I'll tell you, when you do it you know it. Made the pass feel easier at the backside of the buoy and felt earlier and wider. Can't wait to really be able to focus on it in the spring.
  7. @skier2788‌ I will tell you, when you get to 38off and shorter, you do not always have a loose line at the finish of the turn, you can run 38 and 39 with tight line. It sounds to me that your carrying too much speed into 1 like you said above, and standing up at the finish of the turn, which is a direct result of too much speed because the ski can't handle it. The key to 38 is the gate, On the gate, make sure to get wide and stay wide, focus on really turning the ski in first to create angle, but not loading the rope immediately. Wait until you have your ski pointed too shore, then initate your pull! You will find yourself at 1 wider and with less speed. Good luck!
  8. @ozski‌ the only reason I would switch settings mid set, would be because the boat feels stronger, I would just decrease my number by one from C2 to C1, and most likely Id make the switch after my first pass. I have never switched my settings because the rope got shorter, it would change too much.
