  1. For you guys that wear tops or tops with shorts, do you not get water coming in under the top or where the top and shorts overlap?
  2. I have never tried a top. Do you get much water in from the bottom if its fitting right?
  3. I do not like cold water! Am looking at getting a new shorty or possibly a top for the spring. I have never used a top. My objective is to stay comfortable so I will enjoy skiing in cooler weather/water. Would love to hear some thoughts on what people prefer using to keep them warm in the Spring and Fall. I'm in the Southeast.
  4. Yeah, I think there are some better combo sets out there. Still, I just bought these and should be able to find something that will work. Not worried about preset holes. Just plan to patch and drill where needed just like you had to do in the old days :) I still have my EP jumpers where we drilled straight into the ski to mount the bindings.
  5. Been looking. Dont see the HO Helix anywhere. Is that one that has changed names or no longer around? See them advertised on combos but cant find them sold as bindings? Here are the Obrien X9s mentioned and I like the price! http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=OBrien-X-9-Front-Plate-Ski-Binding&i=44178
  6. I bought a Radar combo pair of skis this year for my son to learn on and for guests that go out with us. The bindings are terrible! Im sure they haven't been used a dozen times yet and the heel cup has already torn away from the mount. The rubber is so soft I can't see them lasting much longer. I have a cypress gardens ski from the 70s that still has its binding intact!!! Anyways, I'm trying to figure out a decent cheap fix for them. I tough about putting some rubber plates on them but not sure I want to put that much money into them, plus I really need an adjustable pair for guests. Im looking for suggestions on an economical fix. Anyone had good success with another brands of adjustable bindings?
  7. Nearly getting stranded with a major storm coming in this weekend got me thinking....anyone on bigger lakes use an emergency boat towing service? I think my insurance says they provide some service but I just have a hard time picturing them showing up.
  8. It's been a long time since I jumped, but I couldn't imaging using anything but rubber. It seems to me that sit back landings would also be really rough on your legs if in a rigid binding that didn't give backwards.

    Teak Platforms

Because they look awesome. My 16 year old teak.
  10. Assuming there is enough room, what is the preferred turn around method? Do most of you guys stop and rest between each pass? As you come out of the course, which direction do you prefer your driver to turn to set up for the next pass? I'm not a strong course driver and now teaching my wife and hopefully my son eventually to pull me.
  11. Anyone know of any good training videos or resources for slalom course driving? I'm getting ready to start teaching my wife to pull me. I do have PP but shes not a skier and new to pulling people so I am preparing with lots of patience!
  12. Wayne, they still have it at Overtons for sale. The only review on there was complaining it was too bulky, but he was talking about wake boarding and surfing. How does it fit for you?
  13. For those that ski where it's required, I guess you just take your chances?
  14. What's the best CGA vest out now as far as comfort and padding/protection?
  15. How easy do the new boxes go on/off? Would it be a hastle to have to put it on and take off every time you go ski? Got to load all that stuff anyways when the whole family goes, so, what...a couple extra minutes?
  16. I see Eagle has a CGA vest that goes up to 90 pounds. I just dont know how loose it will fit. Ive heard the Oneil fits kind of snug.
  17. Im looking for a ski vest for my 9 year old daughter. She is small and very thin. 52 pounds and chest size is 23 1/2. Some of the youth vests start at 25 inch chest size. Any recommendations?
  18. I think Ive changed my mind. All the talk about comfort has got me leaning toward the Vectors. I have some foot problems and am afraid the tight rubber bindings might be too uncomfortable. Can anyone tell me the difference in the feather and aluminum plates on the Vector...besides price?
  19. LOL OB. I didn't give you the list of bad joints.
  20. My goal is to get back in the course, but my real goal is to keep on skiing long term. Im almost 50 and am more interested in longevity than being overly aggressive now. I just want to ski again, preferably injury free! Im pretty sure Im going to go with a rubber binding. Makes since to me to start with what Im familiar with and go from there. Now to decide between the Leverage and Wiley. I don't like them too tight on my feet. Anyone know if one is a little wider or less tight on the foot than the other?
  21. Ok. The front should fit too. Thanks.
  22. Will the D3 fit the Strada easily? I like the idea of easing back into it with what I'm comfortable with...although more comfort is attractive to me too.
  23. I just ordered a Strada and need bindings. Getting back into skiing after a long time away. I'm old school and was thinking about ordering some Wiley rubber bindings. I really don't think I want to go with the new rigid style boots, at least for now, but someone was telling me I should try the ones that are a step down from them (sorry I can't remember what he called them) because they would be so much more comfortable and I would still come out of them easily. Any recommendations on bindings?
  24. Anyone bought anything from this sight before?
