I ski on a lake that long - JUST long enough - not ideal but doable
-
@MarcusBrown - feel like coming over to Australia to shoot some stuff? - we have some amazing spots - so much fun just going for a social ski - my kids are just old enough to have some fun behind the boat this summer too!!
-
I'm a lucky one - I met my wife out skiing - she was at uni studying away from home and a friend invited her out as she loved skiing!! She drives much better then I give her credit for actually. She was skiing the course a few years ago when I started in the course at 30mph but since then kids came along. I think this summer might be her time to try back at it... winter over here now but heading out this weekend for a blast - I will ask her to drive specifically - it will shock her as I have had arguments in the past about her driving - good post thanks for that!

I'm going through the same thing at the moment - for me I've only managed two sets on them and it was a rocky ride to say the least coming from rubber. I went for a open water blast with it just to get some time on the ski without having to worry about balls - I felt much better by the end of that ski - It gave me time to try a few different things technique wise - got my stack better which helped.
Keep going with them - my advise is to forget the course for a few rides and get use to the feeling of them.

wow - that is awesome!! my son just turned 4 - no way I thought he could do that in the next 18 months or so!! Kids are fast learners!!

ours is all good... had a magic day yesterday with it.

I best check my serial numbers - just installed a couple of weeks ago. I should add that I have noticed surging but I only have limited experience with ZO in other boats. Where I ski there is a very short run in and I thought maybe that had something to do with it - I'll try disconnecting a puck and see if there is a difference.
-
@Than_Bogan I think you're right - I'm going to take the wing off for a while then I'll try it with it at 6-9 deg and see if it helps at all. Its winter here so I have lots of cold water practice coming my way to tweak with it all ready for summer. Trying my first tournaments this year - always been a goal of mine but have never really pushed myself to do it. thanks for the help.
-
@nate93 sorry - wing not fin!! yes that would be worth a laugh and video.
I'm running the wing at 0 degree. I'm going to start playing with it a little next week - I'll start with 3-5 degrees. I'll report back.
Am changing my whole set up as of next week with my OB4 hardshells and a new A3 - could be interesting the first few rides on that as I'm coming from a Carbon V with rubber boot.
-
thanks guys - just what I thought. I have watched the above vid about 20 times and finally get it - I need more speed to the center line and then hope I have enough speed to coast into the ball whilst letting my ski swing beneath me pre turn... Thanks guys. Might even try no fin and see what happens...

Hi all
Ok I'm not into the shortline or anything remotely close but nevertheless I love chasing balls. So I'm trying to achieve 16m @36mph. I'm getting too much speed into the ball and was thinking perhaps to adjust my wing angle slightly? Would 5 degree's make a difference? Or at the rope length I'm at make no difference and I really just need to sort out my technique a whole lot more?
I've got an OB4 front binding system with hardshell in the mail also which I'm hoping may help.
-
@Than_Bogan - got it - great read thanks. I can't wait to get mine dialed in. Now just to lose some weight I put on.

Hi all
I've got an OB4 system coming in the post to me right now. It's going on my A3 which I bought because I was due for a new system and the fact that the ob4 system will fit perfectly on it.
I'm coming off 12 months off the water due to 5 fractures in my mid foot and tearing cartilage in the sub talor joint.
Can I ask what tension you guys are running.
I'm 220lbs ( running 55K @ 22 off (for now) - looking at 58K soon hopefully. What tension would you suggest?
Also @Than_Bogan I can't open the link?
-
Good to hear your back on the water - I had a similar thing happen to me - broke 5 bones etc in my mid foot. I've just returned and I'm so happy and relieved that I can ski still. I just purchased an OB4 system to help prevent this injury happening again. I'd urge any keen slalom skier to move to a releasable binding. I was close to not skiing again really...
-
great idea!! I'll keep this in mind when I order my OB4 soon. Assuming my broken foot will handle the wakes now after my op. Testing the foot out this weekend - if no pain then OB4 time.
-
fitting it to a custom ski boat protege inboard. PCM engine. I'm in Brisbane, Australia. Testing it this Sunday if the rain clears.

Hi all
I'm a little excited today - look what turned up in the mail.
The install is happening on Saturday then testing on Saturday afternoon.
We ski at site with a very short run in, so this is going to make like easier for the driver.

Don Carrington - Father of Geoff if you remember the name - he's still barefooting at 81, my old man is 65 and still ski's with us every weekend - when he isn't playing golf
-
Hi guys
Couldn't resist putting this vid up of my son - his first solo ski - hes 3.5 yrs old skiing on a homemade ply board.
Whilst my summer sucked with a broken foot - it was great to see my boy up and away.
-
lol - contest coming...
-
Thanks guys

Hi all
How difficult is ZO to fit to a PCM 450? I assume it would be quite a simple plug and play setup being a late model engine. Then just run power and all done?
I really have no idea but we will be fitting this ready for our next summer season here in Aust.
cheers

are you doing another campaign on tee spring? I would love a shirt or hoodie...cheers
