  1. I've been pretty lucky so far. When we got our portable course we went to a lake owners association meeting just to inform everyone what the course was and what we do on it. I was really nervous and didn't know what to expect, but everyone was really cool about it and were actually interested in it. We have never had a problem and actually have spectators some mornings. The only ones who do buzz the course sometimes are fishermen that come up to the 2 resorts on the lake and don't know what the course is, luckily that doesn't happen very often.

We do only get a few hours in the morning to use it because once the tubers and surfers come out the lake gets trashed. I don't mind when other people come out to use the lake but the wake coming off the surfing boats is ridiculous! I wish more people would be skiing!

  2. Such a good article. I've been skiing since I was 5 but not course skiing until 25 (wish I would have sooner) and I still love to teach everyone I can to ski. Even though running the course is my new favorite hobby I never forget to go hot dogging on combos, bare footing, going with friends or trying to find something new to ski on...

I hope everyone else is trying to spread the fun of this fantastic hobby that is more a part of my life that a sport! I will never forget learning to slalom, AWESOME, and the one that taught me.

    Thanks Water Skiing!

  3. What would be the purpose of skiing with a particular grip? Is it more of a comfort or fatigue thing? My brother skies right forward with right palm up and has never had an issue running the course. I've never really thought about it until seeing a couple threads lately.
