The Ridge is only 12 miles from my house and I drive by it all the time. I would love to make a few turns there sometime. We ski Oroville all the time, even in the drought we we're skiing there into October last year. And yes, on my HO ski. And of course you can't miss Marcus around town here in Chico.

1992 Ski West California Skier, 620 hrs. Nothing fancy but has a great wake for it's time period.

I purchased a 2014 CX SUPERLIGHT and have been very happy with it's performance, I took it into the course at 15 off at 30 mph and it was great for me and can be taken much deeper course performance wise. I believe @Horton did a review on one last year. This ski is so much lighter and faster than my last ski it really put me in a differant world. I also do alot of free skiing and this ski with its design really is great for it. I have not tried those boots though.

I am looking at paying 1800.00$ for next year. You bring your own boat and have use of two lakes. One slalom one wakeboard lake. My whole family is included and can bring guest with a signed waiver. It's about 30 minutes from my house. You can leave your boat on site if you want.

I am intermidate at best also but the Mapple T has my attention, and would really like to try the V-type, because I LOVE my CX Superlight for my ability.

Bought our first boat and re-ingnited my love of skiing. Found a family activity that we all really enjoy and keeps us in the same place doing the same thing. Pretty good thing in this age. Was invited to ski on a private ski lake, Villa Lagos, by SkiRv and had a blast and realized how much work I have to do. Will be joining said ski lake next spring because I love this stuff. Took my kids to watch my first Pro tournament in years, the California Pro AM. And last but not least was able to find on the World Wide Web, BOS.

Expensive parking spot!

The TX is a bit wider for slower speeds.

I have the HO CX Superlight, and do mostly open water and some course, It can handle the speed and keep you happy. It is designed to use less energy when doing lots of turns on open water. I really like this ski!

As I look at it I want to do it!

95 degrees yesterday up here in Nor. Cal. Got some open water time in on Lake Oroville. Water temp 73!

I have the CX Superlight and love it on the open water and it has been great for me on the course also.

I went from a 20 year old EP Comp to the HO CX SUPERLIGHT this summer and it is to different worlds. I demo'd the Radar Senate C and The HO standard CX also. The CX SUPERLIGHT was the best feeling for me and fast. This ski will give me room to improve with out going top end in the course and out! For 2015 nothing has changed about this ski except the color.

Just dealt with them on a binding that failed in the first year and they replaced it. Worked through my retail store to do it !

I picked up the HO CX Superlight back in July and I love it. I come from a similar background as you and now am starting to learn the course and it really does well. This ski is comfortable and really is fast. Good luck on your choice.

Went down and watched the Cal. Cup there in the early 80s and saw Bob LaPoint set a new record for the time.

Got to ski Villa Lagos yesterday with SkiRv and a couple other members and it was a great experience at a great site. Eric the owner of the site was there and full of knowledge and one hell of a skier. This place, if you are in the Chico area is very much worth checking out, and there is a wake board lake there also for those into that sorta thing or like me with kids that board and ski!

I do believe access is one of the biggest problems. I live in Chico ca. And there is no shortage of private lakes within 15 minutes of my house but access to them is nearly impossible as pretty much all of them do not offer memberships. So for a person that would like to course ski it leaves me without practice options. So I have to agree that public ski course options would be the best promoter of increasing the numbers of people at tournaments and interest of participating in them.

@MarcusBrown , I am sending you an e mail about your coaching/lessons!
Thanks for the input!

I live here in Chico and have a California Skier, pretty much just ski open water but would love to get some ball time, it would be great to check out Villa Lagos, and am considering getting a membership there!
