  1. It will be interesting to see how this plays out for private ski lakes here in Nor. Ca. and other areas of California. I posed this question to the owner of a lake near Chico Ca. where I live last year, and they seemed secure in their water resource, but with this mandatory 25% cut that is supposed to be regulateded by local districts it may play out diffently for diferant places. I know that the big resivores will not probably last long this year without a good 4x4 to launch.
  2. The Ridge is only 12 miles from my house and I drive by it all the time. I would love to make a few turns there sometime. We ski Oroville all the time, even in the drought we we're skiing there into October last year. And yes, on my HO ski. And of course you can't miss Marcus around town here in Chico.
  3. I purchased a 2014 CX SUPERLIGHT and have been very happy with it's performance, I took it into the course at 15 off at 30 mph and it was great for me and can be taken much deeper course performance wise. I believe @Horton did a review on one last year. This ski is so much lighter and faster than my last ski it really put me in a differant world. I also do alot of free skiing and this ski with its design really is great for it. I have not tried those boots though.
  4. Bought our first boat and re-ingnited my love of skiing. Found a family activity that we all really enjoy and keeps us in the same place doing the same thing. Pretty good thing in this age. Was invited to ski on a private ski lake, Villa Lagos, by SkiRv and had a blast and realized how much work I have to do. Will be joining said ski lake next spring because I love this stuff. Took my kids to watch my first Pro tournament in years, the California Pro AM. And last but not least was able to find on the World Wide Web, BOS.
  5. I have the HO CX Superlight, and do mostly open water and some course, It can handle the speed and keep you happy. It is designed to use less energy when doing lots of turns on open water. I really like this ski!
  6. Got to ski Villa Lagos yesterday with SkiRv and a couple other members and it was a great experience at a great site. Eric the owner of the site was there and full of knowledge and one hell of a skier. This place, if you are in the Chico area is very much worth checking out, and there is a wake board lake there also for those into that sorta thing or like me with kids that board and ski!
  7. I do believe access is one of the biggest problems. I live in Chico ca. And there is no shortage of private lakes within 15 minutes of my house but access to them is nearly impossible as pretty much all of them do not offer memberships. So for a person that would like to course ski it leaves me without practice options. So I have to agree that public ski course options would be the best promoter of increasing the numbers of people at tournaments and interest of participating in them.
