  1. And I did not bring my ski on this 10 day trip for the job interview. If I move here, I'd be bringing my ski with all the household stuff later in the new year. For some reason, Oahu Ski Club hasn't responded to my email. I'd like to head out there to watch others ski on this trip. Just to get a feel for the place. Thank you to all the baller replies!
  2. Oh, my Moomba Outback it not suited for salt water. Thanks for the head up!
  3. I have a job interview in Honolulu on Monday, October 30, and we plan to relocate there in the new year. I need a contact at the Oahu Ski Club. Also, should I import my ski boat with our household shipment? What about a car? Prices are high on the island so maybe it's worth paying the tax? I'm not bringing my ski but would love to watch others ski the course!
  4. I am an amateur waterskier wanting to learn the slalom course and considering moving back to Virginia, my home state. Where is the best place to join a waterski club? We can live anywhere. My daughter lives in DC and sisters & parents in Richmond. I can buy a share in a boat or get a ski boat myself. Just exploring what's out there...
  5. I'm looking at a job in Asheville and wondering where is a nearby ski lake? We want to rent a 3 BR house on the water. I don't have a ski boat yet but I am working on it.
  6. I'm flying down from Chicago with my slalom ski hoping to find lady skiers for some runs together. I'm staying lakefront in Clover renting a boat so I can travel to your dock if necessary. I have Waterski USA insurance & can chip in for gas. Please let me know if you'd like to ski together...
  7. Thanks everyone! You have all been very helpful!!
  8. Okay, so FL is way over-priced! A kind water skier mentioned Katy, which is more in our price range, and now I'm interested to buy a home there. $500-$800K with a covered boathouse, 3,000 sq ft. I like to be near culture, so an hour's drive to Houston for ballet and theater suits me fine. And hubby needs to fly internationally for work every three months, so a big airport is a must. Our grown kids live in L.A., D.C. and Chicago, so we are open to anywhere. Please advise...
  9. Now that we can work remotely, my husband and I want to move to a waterski lake community within a reasonable drive to the beach for our visiting adult kids. Ideally, we'd like a 4BR lakefront house with a dock under $1m. We can live anywhere, please advise.
