  1. I don't barefoot, but I ski behind a 196 and a 200 quite a bit. The 196 definitely has more spray. It really depends upon your speed and the load in the boat. I'd think that the 200 would be a great boat for your needs. While, both have great, amazing and awesome slalom wakes, I'd give the 200 a slight edge for longline. Past 28 it's just amazing. To go back to the title of this thread, the 200 definitely is all that.
  2. I thought that the point John made here was really good. If you can consistently run a couple of passes and then a couple of buoys at the next pass, you can competitively water ski. I had never thought of it that way. The idea of a competition is scary to me. I like to go and watch other good skiers, but I don't consider myself good enough to ski in competitions (I don't do anything close to shortline). Maybe I need to rethink that.
