I'm in Westerville. Where do you ski?

I am hoping to make more friends that ski. Networking is always good. I have reached out to the Columbus Aqua Ski club, I'm sure that will be a great resource. Anyone in the Columbus OH area?

I will most of the time be in open water, I think. Lakes and rivers. I'm not ready for the course yet.

 

I forgot to mention I'm in my mid 30s, not in the best shape (now going to the gym 5 days a week to change that).

I'm looking for some more advise please. Would anyone be able to advise the difference between the Carbon Omni and the Sydicate Omni, in regards to a beginner skier.

 

I have been skiing for a long time but not much frequency. (maybe twice to eight times a year) So, unfortunately, I would still classify myself as a beginner. After a career change, I will be able to ski quite a bit more. i will be making a concerted effort to work on my fundamentals (probably taking lessons as well). Also, looking to buy a used ski boat.

 

I currently Ski on a 2012 HO triumph. I am thinking of upgrading now so I don't grow out of the ski. Should I get the Omni Carbon, the Omni Sydicate, or should I stick with the Triumph? (Is it likely that I don't outgrow that ski anytime soon?)

I have been told for 2018, the XMAX bindings are interchangeable for front and back. Would anyone be able to confirm or Deny this?

I know it's amature (the video and the skiing) but we had a lot of fun.

It really depends on the person on the ski. Forgive me if I'm out of line, it sounds like the driver and the skier are both inexperienced, please exercise caution and see if there are some experts that could go out with you.

Turns out the radar binding didn't fit exactly but some small fabrication to the holes in the binding and I was able to make it fit perfectly

@MattP , no tendinitis, unfortunately until I join a club or/or make some more solid connections (possibly from Ballofspray) I don't have any friends locally that slalom ski.

I am not an expert by any stretch of the word. Any suggestions?

@nam1975 , it is Mullet Lake in Northern michigan, not exactly a ski lake, but in the morning the water is like glass.

As I continue to update my equipment I run into more questions. ..I'm sure it's a matter of opinion, how does the difference in a curved or strait handle affect the waterski experience? All waterski handles on the market float correct? I noticed handles with a braided line running all the way up to the handle and then handles with what looks like a single plastic line running all the way up to the handle what difference does that make? Are there any other factors I should consider when purchasing a handle?

What are some of the best ideas creative ideas to mount a gopro?

Be careful only looking at the hour meter, I do believe some boats were manufactured without hour meters, but they can be mounted later, might not be the true hours. Aside from that, it is about how well the boat has been taken care of and how "hard" those hours were on the boat. In my opinion anyway...

I purchased a blank ski, 2012 but never used, purchased bindings. HO triumph ski ho bindings. Is there a general rule for binding placement to get started? Will there be suggestions from the factory? I would rate myself as intermediate in skill. So many variables I am concerned about...
