  1. Dude - If my tourney PB was 39 I wouldn’t even know about the 22off wake?
  2. I had a 6.0/409 put in my '01 Ski Nautique to get zero off. It skis much better with more consistent speed. However, with the ACME 668 the bump at 22off is huge, so I put the 1442 3-blade on it and the 22off bump is much smaller, however I am underpropped to the point it revs up like a jet ski coming out of the hole. Has anyone tried a larger size/pitch 3-blade on this setup?
  3. It’s the prop that came on the boat as a promo boat from ‘01. Gear ratio is 1.23:1. Maybe it’s just normal like Drago said, and compared to zero off new boats many of my drivers comment on the surging speed.
  4. I have a '01 Ski Nautique with a GT-40 and the Stargazer Perfect Pass. I'm 250lbs and ski from 15@30mph to 28@32mph. When I am skiing the speed goes from 29-31, 31-33. I am running a 654(12.5x15) prop and thinking about trying the 480 which will increase the rpms and is larger diameter to try and get a more consistent speed. Has anyone tried a 480 (13x12.5) on the boat? Any other ideas?
  5. I have a butterknife that I have skied behind my G21. It's pretty soft so I like that for dealing with the big wake behind the wake boat - the stiffer skis are harder on my ankles. I don't have a union but have skied my Senate behind the wake boat and don't like it as much. The butterknife is a decent ski - I can run the course at 30mph on it behind a ski boat, 32mph it gets hard to slow down in the course for me.
  6. At my lake the slalom skiers and wake boarders have joined forces against the surfers. It made me laugh because they couldn't stand each other for the last 20 years.
  7. Cool thread.. Canyon Lake is a good option if you want the good southern california weather and a community with more going on than Bakersfield, and better air quality. Unless you have to commute on the 91, then the traffic will wreck your quality of life.
  8. Hi Wayne. Thanks for the offer. I skied 3 sets on the Vectors and then gave them back since they were demos. I liked the back binding but just couldn't get the front to hold my foot in place. If I had purchased them I would have probably spent more time figuring them out.
  9. @JayG80 The back of my front binding is 32 5/8" from the tail of the ski. I measured to the back of the plastic piece.
  10. Andy Mapple was my childhood hero. I never had the opportunity to meet him but read about him in waterski magazine growing up. I even sold my go-cart to buy an Obrien ski just like his when I was 14. All the stories have been great to read and I have been bummed for days thinking about his passing.
  11. I purchased a new pair of Animal Boots this year and my front foot is just crushed by about the 5th pass. I have size 13 feet wide with a high arch. Does anyone have a recommendation for a comfortable boot. My ski came with the Radar Vector boots but I could not get them tight enough to control the ski - my foot would move around as I skied. Ski is a 71" Senate but I'm not sure that matters.
  12. I'm 6'3 240 and ski 34mph. On a good day I run a couple a 28off, most of time in the middle of 22off, or not. I'm on the 71" Senate and with the factory settings it felt like the ski would not turn on my offside and then all of the sudden hook up and turn too fast. I moved the front binding forward, fin forward and eventually got ride of the wing. Now the ski feels like it carry's speed through the turn and is consistent instead of just hooking up when I slow down to a certain point. I've only had about a dozen sets on the ski and still am not 100% comfortable with it though.
  13. And I bought here a matching life vest and gloves to make sure my favorite little ski partner is always up for a ski ride.
  14. I have a 12yr old daughter (5'6" 120lbs) also that just started skiing at the end of last season. I purchased a Radar P6 65" (Pink) and she loves it. And so do most of her friends that are all working on the mini-course. My wife even likes it better than the Lyric and Ho TX - She skis the course 26-28mph.
