  1. I just brought home a new 2017 senate graphite. I bought it at Shushwap in Calgary and got great service! I struggled with the length and settled on a 67 inch. (195 , 5-11, 32 mph in course, looked at 28 off once last year, 34 free skiing). I got up much easier that on my old Connelly F1 68 ". Didn't like my first go at the course this morning but while free skiing this evening I think I figured out that I need to bend that front RFF knee and suddenly the ski responded. It's very quick out of the turn and to the white water ... but stable. The glide is fast but carrying speed in the turn seems easier than I've ever experienced. Tomorrow will tell the tale in the course again.
  2. If you can remember the sixties you didn't really Live the sixties. I can remember though that I got up first time I tried, 1963, behind our neighbor's brand new evinrude. He had just re-powered to one of the biggest out boards on the lake from his green johnson 25 hp. Cederstrip Peterborough 14 ft.

Barely remember the next 7 years....

  3. Good Friday in Halliburton was very good. v04vkcd2nk6u.jpg

The ice in our bay went out and the LXI was mostly "unwinterized". The docks went in with only modest ice damage. (Need to level and shim again, one anchor is lost in the deeps).

I broke the tee coolant fitting on the RHS exhaust manifold DOH. No we wait for the part - and warmer water. Katherine's Easter present is a new Lyric, can't wait to see the look on her face!

  4. First time ever skiing in February! My daughter and I skied at the Boarding School in Orlando yesterday morning. It was sunny and warm, low 70's. (Toronto is just now recovering from two snowstorms last week). We demo'd a new Lyric for Katie and a 2017 Senate Alloy for me.

Travis is an amazing and patient coach. I have two take-aways to think about till Ice out in April/ may.

I've been letting go too early before my turns causing immediate loss of width, and I've been pulling my arms in slightly rather than "hang loose with shoulders relaxied and slightly rolled in" while approaching the white water.

We both have lots of sore muscles today!

  5. It sounds like this might be theski for me. I'm 195 lb 5'-11. Ski mostly at 32 in the course, 22 off completed about 25% of the time. Haven't gotten too far into 28 though. Free ski about half the time, always at 34 with 28-32 off.....sometimes in lots of boat waves. Current ski is Connelly FI..... Jamie was my inspiration

We're going to orlando this weekend. What ski should I demo? I don't want to remove the wing, does it matter? My 16 year old daughter " might ski" if it's a low stress site....any recommendations?? Thanks for any and all advice. Ps it's snowing heavily in toronto and we really need to get away.

Decided to come up to the cottage today to snow blow the driveway and make sure that the roof was OK and the plumbing still watertight.

    - 8C and about 14 inches of ice.

It's going to be a while before the LXI rumbles back to life.

  7. Have look at the lanyard kill switch. My 2004 LXI cranked without firing one morning. After a lot of frustration on that glass morning, I snapped the switch a few times and success. I've since bypassed the switch entirely
