  1. cool app, I'll have to use that this year, I just use notes on the phone

I keep track of sets per month, most sets per month was July with 32 sets

    142 total for the year

I started keeping track in back in the early 2000's.  I should dig those notes out.  If I remember right I was skiing well over 200 sets a year back then.  Most in a day was 6.  Oh to be a teenager again!

    thanks Mom and Dad! haha

  2. Mine would take on water the most while pulling trick skiing.  It would take on some while docked, and only some when pulling slalom.  Turned out to be the drain plug.  Its replaced now, but used Teflon tape in the meantime.  As part of the problem shooting we filled the hull and no water leaked through the drain plug, which was maddening!

  3. Marc was very generous with his time for our sport, he was welcoming to many into his home because we/they shared a passion, and he was enthusiastic and happy for others when they achieved success. I second @DW 's sentiment about his choice to donate his organs, I was very moved. I am glad to have known Marc. Cheers to those who were by his and his mother's side in the hospital, he deserved that and good on you for that.
  4. There can be a lot of reasons for needing to tighten up some loose line at the back side of the buoy by pulling your arms into your chest, but you're not wrong that drilling early edge changes will certainly help by addressing multiple factors. An early edge change usually helps you start shedding speed earlier so you don't have too much speed in the turn and also I find it is easier to 'stay connected' the earlier the edge change is. Staying connected (or keeping your body traveling on the proper pendulum line) makes the turn so much more natural and rhythmic for reasons I can't articulate with words. Keep it up, find that flow and rhythm!
  5. I'm still loving the settings I posted earlier in the thread. I ran 3 1/4 at 41 in a tourney over the weekend. I made a mental mistake at 2 and then again coming into 3. I need to get out of my own way and let the Denali C-65 with CG fin and S-wing do its job!
  6. I was able to get my CG fin right after it was manufactured, the shop is within driving distance. A very professional shop and product. After messing around with settings for weeks, Cord found a great zone for me on my C-65. 29.75 front boot, 6.812 length, 0.646 distance from tail, 2.491 depth, 2.473 onside turn depth, and 8 degrees s-wing is where I ended up. As the water warmed up I had to increase DFT 18K and leave leading edge alone, I also worked my way from 11 degree suggested s-wing to the 8 degrees now. And I added half turns of offset at a time to get to 2.473. I ran 3 out of 3 39's last time I skied, it's dialed up pretty close, I need to work at 41 more to really know. My buddy TC who runs deep 38 used my settings and was blowing the tail in his offside turns. Which is crazy to me because it feels like the tail is so solid and deep. I have not blown the tail yet, even coming in hot offside and just going for it at 5 at 39. I'm happy with the feel because it feels less affected by rough water than my 3.1 Denali. It is a bit slower than the 3.1 due to the s wing, but it's hard to complain with tight line 1 balls at 41.
  7. @WIRiverRat , I just took my first set on the c-65 with CG-fin and s-wing in very similar conditions. It was much faster than c-65 with regular fin and s-wing. The line stayed tight still though, my wake eye app failed to work though so I can't do any side by side video yet.
  8. @mbabiash Progear gloves rock! Greatest grip. They are thinner, usually last me 100+ shortline sets. Velcro is always still in good shape when the palm dies. Hit up @PSM , my supplier, to order some. Tell him I told him to give you free shipping!
  9. by the way guys, if you ever get a chance to try an S-wing, don't just slap it on your own ski and expect magic. I, against sound advice, tried that. The wing alone doesn't do what Adam described above. It only makes sense as a whole, with the right fin and binding adjustments on a Denali. Comparing how the S-Wing felt at first to when I dialed in all the other necessary settings was night and day....tight lines for days! and tight lines equal better skiing and less injury.
  10. @Deanoski In addition to cutting a lot of plastic out from under the cuff to allow for the cuff to come forward freely and also lowering the height of the cuff and top buckle to decrease shin input, they talked me into forcing the cuff forward about 20 degrees. It takes a few tries and adjustments to get comfortable and even longer to get used to it.
  11. The Adam's over at Denali Skis talked me into trying some modifications to my Reflex boot. To account for the change in center of mass I was experiencing I needed to move the front binding back just a wee bit. I was able to move the binding 1/20 of an inch at a time with the Mikro-Just while soaking wet on the platform in between passes. I ended up liking the setup after 3/20. What a valuable tool to have on my ski! I decided to compare the two setups with side by side video. I need to pick up the turning pace for my free skiing though!
