  1. The ski has so little rocker that the first prototype I took out of the box I thought was a joke! Whenever I ask them why they designed it this way or that, they always answer, "science." haha These are my words and not the engineers, but I think the reason there is not a ton of tip rise is because as you drive the front of the ski into the water during the turn the ski is designed to use that energy and drive the tail deeper into the water too. So the ski doesn't kick back with tip rise as much and instead just slows downcourse speed without killing crosscourse speed, which helps eat up slack. Also, I don't know if its possible to blow the tail out.
  2. Denali is coming to market this fall, waiting for a date...and a website. Best ski I've ever swerved on; casts wider, maintains speed in the preturn, creates speed well behind the boat, and the best part is how it slows down as it rotates around the buoy which keeps the line tight.
  3. @Horton it's too sensitive if it's too tight. I agree with you that it probably impacts release / safety but of the single release I've needed it worked just fine. fingers crossed that it continues that way. I'm grew up using rubber bindings, then used Powershells worn loose as Dave Goode suggested, so loose is how I ski best.
  4. @OKSkier I tried out a 2014 A3 last year for about 15 sets and multiple fin settings and liked the predictability and stability in the turns but found that it was too slow for me. I never really got the zip out of it that I needed. Also, probably related to lack of speed, it didn't cast out after the edge change like I needed. I felt like I was always struggling to get wide. I'm trying the V-type now, see my review on youtube, it feels very similar to the A3 in respect to the turns, but is faster and casts wide. Compared to the A3, I feel like it's lighter under my feet and I can get the tail wider than the tip earlier.
  5. Both lists are useful. I like to think one shows who can do what it takes to put up the best scores possible, the other shows who does what it takes to make it to and compete well in the most pro competitions. @Horton , please explain why you think Elite list is no good? For instance, it got Brian Detrick into Masters, well deserved. He is a great competitor. Just like Tgas, not a favorite to run 41 on any given day, but a great competitor.
  6. I would suggest keeping him on the 45" untied for now and let him get the hang of controlling them while just floating in the water waiting for the boat to tighten the line and such. Nothing worse than him getting frustrated with keeping large buoyant skis under control before he even starts trying to ski.
  7. Yeah Brenda's handles (and everything else) are spot on. All three of the handles I've gotten from her were a perfect 4'11.5" after a few sets. www.intowonline.com All of mine are spectra, a lot of stretch out of the box but no change that I've noticed after a season of use in a wide range of temperatures. If you aren't getting an intow handle to the right length, maybe you need to put in a little more umph behind the boat! ;) j/k
