  1. All great advice. Last night I laid both skis down next to each other and the two fins appear identical in shape. This does not really surprise me because the Radar and the HO have another thing common which is the boot mounting anchor locations. I guess I have all winter to stare, ponder, measure, consider, re-consider, switch, and then switch back (just something to do I guess) all the while dreaming and waiting for the next 6 months for the ice to melt. Common sense (which often times is a burden) tells me I should just keep the stock fin/set up and go find something else to do like find some cool stickers for it or something. (ha) Guess it's just the price I pay for buying a brand new ski in October in Wisconsin.
  2. I am thinking about transferring my "comp fin" (and winglet) from my previous ski (HO Triumph) over to my new 2015 Radar Senate I just picked up. They appear to be very similar but I just like the one from the HO. I'm more wondering if this is possible more than anything else. Any advantages/disadvantages/comments/etc?
  3. Just couldn't sleep last night thinking about the boot location on the new Senate. Finally got up at 1:30 am and went down to my shop and moved it back to set it at the recommended 30" location which is as far back as the TP would allow. Then slept like a baby. Hoping to try it tonight!
  4. username update complete igkya! no more HO-ridin' for me! lol
  5. I know. I tried but can't figure out how to change my username in edit profile. wonder if I need to create a whole new account or something. first the boot. then the username. in that order.
  6. Thank you for the link A_B. My Senate is a 67" Alloy. I'm not sure how to interpret the information from the chart but I see a boot setting at "30 and one also at says "30.25". What is this measurement? Is it from the tip of the ski? If so, to where?
  7. Just picked up a 2015 Radar Senate "67. I am moving my Level (HO) front boot and RTP over from my previous ski and wondering where is the exact correct location the boot and TP should be mounted. The TP does not have much of a variable with only 2 holes accessible on the front of the plate in the front of the padding. I am mounted in the 2nd one back but the difference in location is only maybe not even 1/4 of an inch so I'm thinking it doesn't really matter which hole. This is where it was on my former ski ("69 Triumph). My main focus is the location of the front boot which has a lot of location ability. I mainly (what I call) "slalom free ski" (cutting hard w/no course....yet) and am not yet a hot shot super carver but aspire to be ASAP. I know the fine tuning of the ski is critical for a highly experienced baller but I am looking for just a baseline set up recommendation. Btw...I am 5'-"11 and 195lbs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  8. The "neighbor girl" referenced by skutsch is my daughter. Whoduh thunk a 12 year old girl would get up at 4:30 am for a 5:30 dock time with one her Dad's ski buddies! Since getting her up on a line over the weekend consistently (in an under powered boat with a super crappy slalom from a combo) she was cutting both sides of the wake in no time looking pretty darn good. She is a well built and extremely strong athletic girl at about 5' 6" 125-130 lbs. I'm looking for a good slalom ski for her to call her own and continue to increase the excitement factor for her. She is highly motivated. I'm thinking I want to put her on a 64-65" ski so she can continue to develop on it for several years maybe even in to high school. Something with a decent binding/toe plate for a decent price. I'll check out the radar lyric and the D3 but might be limited on availability as I'd prefer something lightly used. Thanks for the feedback and thanks skutsch for more than simply starting this thread.
