  1. Thanks a lot everyone! @wtrskior last question, my reasoning behind the reflex binding was because I've had a knee injury (ACL) in the past so I do fear my knee would twist if I fall and the binding doesn't come off. However, if you say that it would be too much for my level and then I'll get started with the Vector. Cheers
  2. @coxjon sorry to ask, but which one is the C? I can't find it on the radar website, I see the alloy and graphite, is it one of these two? Also, another question, do they usually release new skis every year? around what time of the year?
  3. @JJVDMZN At this point I'm looking to buy my own ski, just a question of owning one to have more freedom when traveling etc. So It looks like I'm going for the Radar Senate (alloy) instead of Graphite (Thoughts on the difference)? With a Radar 2015 MEN'S ARTP (Aluminum vs Feather frame?) and the 2016 Reflex SuperShell Bindings. Thoughts?
  4. @Than_Bogan would appreciate your help with this question if you don't mind. I'm trying to figure out how to interpret being "stacked". You mentioned having a straight line from knees to shoulders. 1-Does that mean that throughout the slalom my knees should remain in the same position from start to finish? So no additional bend or straightening at any point? 2-I know I shouldn't be focusing on the turns very much yet but it sort of relates to being stacked. I'm guessing the turn has to start from the hips and not with the upper body leaning sideways? What I think I do at the moment, is rock from one side to the other to change positions. 3- Shoulders being "square" or level, does that mean that technically both shoulders should be parallel to the water? how does that work when you're turning? Hope these are not stupid questions but would appreciate any help I can get. Going skiing tomorrow and looking forward to seeing any improvement
  5. @Than_Bogan Thank you so much! great read, and I was under the impression that my knees had to be bent instead of Soft. I'll work on that this weekend along with all the other points! thanks again!
  6. @skibumsam I managed to film my attempt at the slalom this morning. would you mind giving me tips?I really focused on getting my arms closer to the vest and felt a huge difference in picking up speed at the turn, but couldn't maintain the edge so I'm still flying off the wake at this point. Two things I noticed, which I think are wrong 1- when I am nearing the turn, I am standing tall, so you can see my going from knees slightly bent to extended before turning. 2-I was told that I am leaning and trying to turn with my shoulders instead of my hips. any tips on that? Much appreciated! Link is here : https//vimeo.com/136795129
  7. @JJVDMZN Went skiing this morning. Using a Radar P-6. Thoughts?
  8. @gsm_peter Thanks. I'll stick to the current ski or look into the Senate. @Youd270 any take on reflex bindings or is that something I should also stay away from at my level too?
  9. @SkiJay Let me get back to you on that, I'm not too sure. Going skiing on Thursday and I'll pay attention, but I do believe it must be flat when cutting
  10. @Youd270 Gotcha. Yeah that's what I was scared of actually, so I'll wait it out at this point or look into the Senate. @JJVDMZN I'll get back to you on that on Thursday when I go back to Ski, can't remember exactly which ski it is.
  11. @Youd270 thanks, I read a lot about the Theory and it seemed like a good ski for my level. I know this is a hard question to answer, but considering that I'm serious about the sport, 24 years old, and skiing once to twice a week on average, would I be better off waiting a few months more and going for a Vapor? A month ago I could barely go around 2 buoys on the mini slalom. At this stage I can clear 4 buoys, and am hoping to clear a full course in the next 2-3 weeks at which point I suppose I'll start increasing the speed
  12. @SkiJay thanks! very helpful! in my case my rear foot is almost never flat, not even when I'm stacked and getting ready to start.
  13. @skibumsam thanks! Going skiing Thursday morning, will keep that in mind
  14. @Orlando76 yeah I've been watching so many videos it's got me really confused. it seems to me that the one handed turn is one big pull or am I missing something?
  15. I recently started working on slaloms about two months ago. At this point I'm still using an 18m rope and going at about 42 km/h. I'm still way behind most of the people on here but I'm making progress quite quickly. At this point I have no trouble clearing a mini slalom and can go around 4/6 buoys (3 on my good side) on a regular slalom course. I've been meaning to invest in a ski, and at this point, budget isn't really stopping me. I have been told that buying a ski that is too advanced for me could be bad for me to continue making progress on. To be specific, I am looking into the Radar Vapor Lithium / Graphite / Alloy and would like to know if it would be a bad decision for me to buy such an advanced ski and if so what I should opt for?
