  1. 2016 blue metal flake tungsten grey hull. I haven’t seen one I like more on the water
  2. Now...two private lakes with 11 other owners, my personal 2016 SN200, a club 2019 Prostar, trying to remember which boat I’m in when approaching the dock. That’s a great problem. The game changer for our crew....a club change after twenty years. Now to be surrounded by people who are both less experienced all the way to Rossi, we are learning a ton, helping folks learn and working through the stuff you are talking about all the time. Some common denominators...respect for each other, passion for the sport, being around people who understand the expenses who are not presumptuous. One other great invention I think Mark Roske first built in the 80’s..a meter with individual keys for each owner on the club boat. If we get out of balance from pulling someone too much on our SN, we can even things up on their key behind the club Prostar.
  3. Age 16. Dad buys our first family boat. 87 Bayliner. I’m excited because it has a steering wheel. Far too many fishing trips with a small outboard. Mom & Dad are at work. I’ve just waxed it and am burning the ends of small pieces of rope that will be tied to dock bumpers. Blowing matches out, tossing them in the cup holder on the engine box. All done. I look up..six foot flames coming out of engine box. Bucket of water puts the fire out. Two cup holders destroyed. Engine box looks fine except the foil like liner on the underneath side of the box. Put $1.50 of gas in the Camaro. Drove to Bayliner dealership, bought two new cup holders that both matched and fit with my life savings. Bought a roll of foil like duct tape and taped the entire inside of the engine box. Ten years later, long after moving out, Dad asked if I knew anything about char marks under the engine box. “Well, now that there are sufficient miles between us, plenty of depreciation and you won’t kick my @*!, why yes I do!” I never got away with much but was pleased to get away with that one.
  4. If you just bought a 196, you’re on your way to this addiction! 1. Check out Where2waterski.com. At least 5 places on that site within driving distance. 2. My favorite three pro shops not in any order: Performance in Orlando, call Mike or Bill, Steve Chez @ Pacific Slalom or Jeromy at Marine Products in SLC. Alec at Swiss in Clermont, FL is also very good. Especially if you speak French or Spanish. 3. Once you’re free from rollers, drive straight, slow the boat down, generate your own speed to centerline. Have fun!
  5. I ate some bugs, I ate some grass. I used my hand, to wipe my.....Tears....Encarnacioooon! Didle didle didle deee!
  6. Thanks Mike & everyone at Perf Ski. Best pro shop in the country. Bill fixed my binding he doesn’t even sell, Mike brought a ski to my brother in laws house in Orlando, an amazing inventory that replaced all our gear lost in a fire. Can’t wait to visit again.
  7. I’m ready and booked for a week at Swiss. But not sure it’s wise to deal with airports & rental cars. It’s tough to trust anything from media sources after years of inaccurate agenda driven hype.
  8. Yes please. November - April
  9. Always wanted to go to Puerto Escodido. Never done it. The combination of surfing & skiing safely in Mexico....off the charts. However, I knew two people who were killed down there. Not skiing. Not tourists. Not Oaxaca. Just amazing native parents robbed and killed by bad guys. Mexico needs to fix itself. Until the Mexican government asks for help from the US like Columbia did in the 80’s, Florida, Costa Rica and Italy thank you.
  10. Basta Boat lift guide posts had to be a bit wider. No idea about the trailer other than my Boat Mate trailer and their service are consistent....absolutely horrible.
  11. Yes we’ve stayed there. Three families with only about four older kids all in the same house. Very affordable that way. We were there in December and paid to have the hot tub heated. That was a good call. Could have easily enjoyed thee golf carts but just piled in the minivans and had a great time. Hit the Publix to get the fridge filled. You may be able to order groceries online and have them delivered but you’ll have time for groceries. We ate one night at the Crooked Fork, went north to Winter Garden another night, all the way to Park Ave in Winter Park once. That dinner was awesome but it’s more than an hour away. Make sure you go to Performance Ski & Surf, and visit Alex at the Swiss Pro Shop. Our favorite trip by far.
  12. You got that right Alberto. None of us got enough time with Andy, and he never complained about anything around me with one exception...getting nailed by a scorpion at Boca Laguna in Mexico. Super hard to see and they will jump up and kill you.
  13. Only 5% of those on BOS are female? Watching my wife browse different sites all that seems to be required would be more outfits. Whatever those are. Good luck
  14. Do it! Working with experienced folks makes for a much lighter work workload and a lot of fun. I’ve only directed one so far but the crew that asked me to do it were so good at the critical aspects of our Class C that my family could focus on the food and the fun. Raffles, drawings, sponsors etc. Horton is on point. Know your audience. We had a class L but the three or four guys who wanted it were all injured. It’s harder and more expensive to do Class R but I’m sure you know that.
  15. Last year we visited or drove by Swiss, MC, Rini’s lake, LaPoint and Eden down in Ft. Myers. My vote is Swiss.
  16. Not what I tried to post...at all. Couldn’t pull it off either. But Eden Ski Lake kept the stoke alive for our crew last January!
  17. Steve is a great guy at Pacific Slalom and has been awesome for slalom gear. Not sure about trick gear. He’s really helped our family
  18. I’ve owned or had a club boat I’ve partially owned for the last 15 years. Nautique Malibu & Mastercraft. I’m not selling anything right now so no angle here. My favorite has been the Nautique 200. Why? My wife and kids can drive it well, the throttle is super easy to control, wakes for slalom and trick are fantastic. The new Ski Nautique and Pro Star are wonderful but require more driver input. The Malibu’s we’ve had all have had quality issues. Malibu’s would also heat up at elevation.
  19. Hey KRoundy, get well soon! I’m 50 190, long term double boot guy who had double reflex hard shells like T Winter had a year or so ago. It was working well. I Never released one without the other. Great control but Rossi saw my set up and suggested a change to something that wasn’t dragging so much water slowing things down in back. Parsons didn’t like the distance of my rear binding to the heel of my front binding. So I moved to an R Style Reflex back foot. As close together as possible. I was worried things would not release at the same time and worried because previous attempts to go back to a RTP ended terribly. I am very pleased I made the change. Not hard at all getting used to the R Style. I am super grateful to these pros and their willingness to help a scrub like me. I was banging away struggling at 32 off and am now a full pass better with 3@35 in my last tournament. Like you, it also helped to drop some lbs. What a great life and sport we have to be thinking about this stuff. Happy Thanksgiving!
  20. What a fun little ripper! Great job on the front binding choice Dad. Keep that din set properly to release when it should as his weight changes. Even during the year. I didn’t with my son and one bad crash changed everything in a bad way. Are those rollers making his ski bounce on his off side pre turn? Get him in a tournament with kids his age. He reminds me of some kids we see at Broadside in ID Bear Hollow and SunTen in UT. They may have more fun on the dock than on the water
  21. Pacific Slalom. Chez is awesome
  22. I purchased one of 12 shares of two lakes last year in UT. Also a new lake was just completed this week not far from Provo, UT
  23. Good grief, clean that ski up. Hasn’t your Dad taught you anything?
