  1. @aupatking - Here is the contact for the private lake in Lemoore. His Name is Brian Perkins. I used to be Stationed at Lemoore NAS and Brian, a Pilot Lance Fewels, and myself used to maintain a Course on the Kings River behind the base. Brian and a few others built two Lakes in Lemoore out by the two golf courses. Tell him Rich Hall told you to contact him. Brian Perkins 559-891-0453 559-582-1625
  2. @horton, Thanks for all you do for competitive waterskiing. The volume of users proves that traditional waterskiing is not dead. Had a blast at BOS tournament.
  3. This season was a huge mental struggle for me. I trained all year and First tournament on May 30th beat my PB by 4 bouys - Two days later stuffed the tip on my off side free skiing and majorly sprained my ankle. Had no stability because of a partial torn ligament My General Doctor said it could be a Year before I could ski. The following week I saw an Ortho Specialist and I was told I could ski as soon as I had Stability. Two weeks later with my ankle taped with Duct tape like a walking cast I was back on the course. Had issues on my off side at 32 and 35 but I kept trying, because I just couldn't end the season! still have issues with the Ankle now. So, Long story but it is best to error on the safe side and let it heal.
  4. Prewrap and Duct tape - gives you the stability to continue training. You will continue to over compensate till it heals. Takes forever. I had a major sprain the same compression sprain on my front ankle on June 2 and was skiing in a tournament the last week of June with it taped up like a walking cast. lol. this time of year I would let it heal. I am still having issues with it on my offside.
  5. Also Ryan Huie, Local Tournament skier, Runs Ski Life Academy That offers Ski pulls and outings on Lake Austin.
  6. I would suggest watching Gordon Rathbun's 12 Slalom Drills. I go back to lesson 7 (Lucky's Drill) and Handle Control lesson Every time I get stuck or start making mistakes You look like you have the talent and the skills, just need to learn the right way to stack and hold that load thru the wakes then edge change with handle control. Good luck and keep at it.
  7. @Mad11- my comment was only a reference to How great the top skiers can ski in any conditions. Aquaplex is one of the top Skiing sites in our community! Sorry if I miss spoke about being a pass short, because there were many great scores in July. @Skiier2788-I was relating to the several post before mine about the Tail wind and relating how the Top pros skied the same conditions and run it any. Sorry if I offended anyone.
  8. Dang Bruce where have you been surfing??? Jk
  9. Mark's record tournament in July, on the same lake, had the same conditions and Most skiers were one pass short of normal except for Nate ran 41 all four rounds in huge wind and chop. Will ran 3 to 4.5 @41 also.
  10. 2 days late and $1500 short - lol I realized from the tourney and listening to people talk who run 38 and 39 that I was reaching for the handle too early and the load was blocking my hips from getting through. So, tonight my only thought was too be very patient and let the ski come around fully and never reach for the handle. 1set -Ran 22,28,32, and 1@35 off the dock Second set 28,32 and 4x 3@35 just inside 4. It's funny to figure this after the tournament season is over! Lol
  11. Great tournament format. To John, Mark, and all those who made this happen, thanks for all the hard work. Bishop Im in if you have one in Sac. It was awesome to meet and make new friends from all over the country.
  12. I have a 94' ps PP pro and only use it for Free skiing mostly. I ski with it in the course alittle in the winter, not even close to comparing the feel of a 2013 or newer boat that has to be used to pull a slalom tournament. My training partner has a 2012 Nautique 200 that is the exact feel of a tournament boat. I would rebuild the motor for $2500 and sell it. if you are into 38 you need a newer boat!!!!
  13. 2014 season I went through 5 Radar handles, Broke 2 skis and 3 ropes, went through 12 pairs of gloves. But, I went from 3.5@15' 32mph at my first tournament Oct 2013 to 3@32'off 34mph July 2014
