This is awesome!
I always tell my kids that they know how much I love skiing, but what they don't understand is I love watching them ski more!

Unsure of US Laws but in Australia, if you had an UN-permitted course, it wouldn't matter how good your Liability policy was because you are breaking the law which is a flat exclusion. Just something to be aware of.

@Horton seem fair. Happy to pay a bonus cup cake for every extra bouy gained

Here’s me doing research about where to get lessons on the west coast of the US when we come over next year. I think I have found the answer. Book me in for May 2020!?

@Horton your boat is famous! Making its way across the world!

Having been in a boat when someone broke their leg skiing, I would never be without a spotter on the water. We ski on a river so granted it is slightly different to a small lake.
In Aus, kids can be a spotter from Age 12 once they pass the boat license test, but I am hesitant to go out with 1 adult & a child because if something was to happen they are not going to be much help.

Definitely looking better @Orlando76. She does still have cankles but they seem to be getting better. Lots of ice and elevated 95% of the time which seems to be helping.

@HPskier1 - care to share how you set your vtx up for slalom? Friends have just bought one and are still trying to figure it out.

Thought I would share the photos of the wife’s leg. Was a minor fall just crossing the wake and just the ski went in a different direction to the boat. 50 minute wait for the ambulance and then to one hospital for an X-ray before another ride to the capital city for the first surgery the next day.
The first photo shows after first surgery on the right and then after the second surgery on the left.
Second surgery was because they were not happy with the placement of the bones after the first one and said it would cause early onset of arthritis.
She is now week three after the second surgery, like Orlando it is a slow process and still no weight bearing for another 3 weeks.
Thanks to all who have shared tips in this thread, they have been very helpful.
Second image shows the wounds, all stitched with dissolvable stitches.
Have also included the original X-ray from the day she did it.

@Orlando76 thanks for the tips & tricks, we have the knee scooter for once she gets the moon boot in a couple of weeks but will look into the iwalk!
we are in Australia, so not long into the ski season.
Trying to be Mr helpful for her and do what I can, and reminding the kids (8 & 6) that they really need to pick up after themselves.
All the best with your recovery, keep your head up.
I hope your Son is doing well as well!
Stay Positive.

@Orlando76 hows the recovery going? My wife came off her ski and fractured her Tibia in a similar way 2 days before Christmas. Had her second op on it this week so still 6 weeks no weigh bearing.

With around 9 weeks until our ski season starts in Australia, I thought it was time to start ramping up the fitness in the gym, in preparation for the start of the season.
Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for a gym program aimed at slalom skiiers? If not, who to speak to in getting one tailored.

@RichardDoane thanks for sharing the Pic, I bent one of these on my Nautique & didn't know what to look up to replace it.

Thursday & Friday were perfect on a high speed connection. During the finals, just trying to listen to it on the road while my 7 year old watched was hopeless. He was retrying every 2 minutes with minimal luck.

Doesn’t start for another hour here in Aus with open men’s about 2 hours away. Here’s the info for anyone who wants to watch

Only ice in Aus at the moment is in the Esky!
Suggestions on Itinerary for an Aussie
in News & Other Stuff

Hey all,
We have just booked our flights for next year for a trip to the US in late April/May for just over 3 weeks.
Flying into LAX & doing San Diego, Disneyland & Vegas.
Then flying across to San Fransisco where we will hire another car for a week & I hope to get some skiing in.
Thinking of heading to Liquid Zone for a few nights (hoping dates will line up with Terry Winter being there) but open to other suggestions of places to stay/ski. Would like to do Lake Tahoe & part of Yosemite in this time.
We then fly out of San Fran back home.
Any suggestions for places to stay or ski along the way? We will have a car other than while at Disneyland
We will be a group of 5 - 3 Adults and 2 kids.
Cheers
