  1. @skialex we have had 2 club members experience Reflex failure. In both instances the failure was of the U-bolt that holds the boot to the plate. The bolt came off of the surprisingly short screw that secures it to the plate. All Reflex users should lock-tite their U-bolt. In one case the screw had been recently tightened and the failure was perplexing. It was like the screw threads failed. Reflex has not responded to multiple emails on this failure which has been very poor to day the least.
  2. Our club also uses TeamSnap and it suits our needs.

We have had the same issue twice with our 2017 Team 200. There is obviously some sort of system glitch that allows this, but we fixed it same as described in here.
  4. @SunTenAgain I also had the same experience that stock (or close to it) was no good for me. I tried the 65 ARC S again this week with 6.976 2.50 and .756, wing 7, and front Reflex boot at 28.75. It was an entirely different ski. Instead of being late everywhere, I was early and much more stable. The setting difference from stock is huge, and honestly, not intuitive based on what I was originally feeling. I was on a 2013 Quest (soft flex) before, which I have loved. I would say that this seems to be an awesome ski, if you are willing to try different settings for a while. Thanks to @waterskigirl for offering such a great option!
  5. Thank you @waterskigirl for those settings. That is very different from stock. I have been at 6.935, 2.450, and .750 which is closer to stock, but just not feeing great. I feel late everywhere, and weak in the turns. Sounds like everyone really loves this ski, so will try some more settings. I went back on my Quest last week but plan to give the ARC S another try.
  6. I am trying out a 65 ARC S now. I have been on a soft flex Quest since 2013 (my favorite ski ever). Getting the ARC set up took me a while, and it is now feeling pretty good, but not quite as good as my Quest. It is slightly faster and stable, but isn't turning as well. I am waiting until we have warmer water in Virginia (it is now 75) to decide on it since I know softer skis don't love cool water. Be prepared to try some different settings (especially binding placement) if it doesn't feel good right away.
  7. I purchased the Supershell system last year and the heel stabilizer on it cracked twice. I know I am not alone in this experience, as some skiers at Okee had the same problem. Reflex tells me they are aware of the issue, and sent me a third heel stabilizer which appears to be a very inexpensive piece of plastic. I love the Reflex system and I used the original system, including the R-style rear boot, for many years before buying the Supershell. But I can't say that I think the new system is better (though I do like the double horseshoe in front), and I certainly don't think it is worth its cost. I did rupture my Achilles in my original system, but can't be sure it wouldn't have happened in another system because it was a strange fall. All in all, I wish I had just stayed on the original Reflex system, which is an excellent binding system.
  8. @lcgordon there is a lot of good form in your video. you have also gotten some great tips here. as a fellow LFF skier, I thought of a tip i was once given - when you turn in for your gates, and turn 2/4, be sure to keep your shoulders facing downcourse/open. in other words, do not use your shoulders as part of the turn. your lower body should be doing that. i have a habit of closing off my shoulders on my offside, and it really shuts down the turn. doing this also helps prevent dipping the shoulder down which is what i saw on your video. i think more than anything, our alignment and "stacked position" is what is critical to good and safe skiing. one of my ski partners says he never lets his shoulders cross the wake before his front foot. i like that visual. you are very smart to consider good technique early in your skiing. too many of us learn bad habits that are very difficult to break. best of luck to you!
  9. I am 5 8 weigh 125, got a medium due to my height. it is a little loose and therefore exchanges some water, but is still a really great wetsuit. much better than an aquaskin. i have the black tec suit. i bought that one because it feels much more durable than the silver suit.
