  1. Thanks everyone for there comments. I was just trying to understand what was happening here. I am happy to delete this thread but don’t know how.
  2. Hi, my 5 year old vapor alloy delaminated leaving me in the market for a new ski. When I originally purchased it I noticed it was poorly sealed between the top and bottom decks. The local ski shop loant me a new last years model vapor graphite to use during a skiing holiday while radar repaired my old ski. The attached photos show the new ski that I was loant and it appears to be very poorly put together with gaps starting to show between the top and bottom decks, just like my old ski. Are all skis like this or are there better built skis available? I am very reluctant to buy a new Radar to have it fall apart like my old one. Any comments welcome and appreciated.
  3. Thanks for your comments guys. Just wondering if the pvc or foam core is more durable? And maybe not damaged so easily. Also yesterday I got a ride on a 2020 vapor graphite and loved it. The local ski shop has kindly let me have one of there loan skis.
  4. Hi Kurtis500, the ski goes back in the bag after use then a few hours later taken out sat on my spare bed until dry. Once cover and ski are dry it goes in the walk in robe in my bedroom until next use. The climate where I live is hot and dry with humidity less than 20 percent. If it gets humid it’s only humid far a storm for a day or two. But there is temps up to 47 degrees Celsius. Nearly 120 in your language.
  5. What are everyone’s opinions on what type of ski I should get and why?
  6. Is the pvc core any stronger or better to prevent future delaminating on a new ski.
  7. Hi Stevie Boy, I did buy new directly from the ski shop. It’s been looked after more than any other ski I’ve seen. It was brand new close out model. 12 months old when I bought it. But was brand new never used. If square one were as good as everyone says and backed there product they wouldn’t advise me to fix it, sell it and buy new. Imagine the poor person buying this stuffed ski!
  8. Thanks everyone for there advise. Looks like I need a new ski. So what do I buy. I love how this one handled. Easy to start and was more ski than I could handle. Loved the speed and acceleration of it. I can also remember riding the stiffer ski at the time but it felt chattery on the water. The alloy (not so stiff) suited me better and my water conditions better. Any advice appreciated.
  9. Hi guys, thanks for the comments. I don’t want to sell the ski secondhand. I did buy the ski new from a shop in Australia. Square One are the Australian distributor. I was expecting better support from Square One with a failed radar ski with minor use. I returned the ski to Square One and they are the ones repairing it. I have only talked to the local ski shop as Square One won’t talk to me. Apparently they are to busy!
  10. Hi, about 4 years ago I bought an old model new radar vapor ski. When new I mentioned to the guys I bought it of that the top deck didn’t really match the bottom deck where they joined together. This has gradually got worse. Last year when I first skied on it it felt spongey. After inspection it appears to have delaminated. I contacted my local shop who contacted square one. They agreed to resell the top to the bottom with resin. Is this a suitable fix or will it still be a delaminated ski on the inside. It’s not back yet. The ski is in mint condition and only sees use for about 10 days a year when on holidays. The ski is stored in my walk in robe, much to the missus displeasure. What are everyone’s opinions. The ski shop said to get it repaired then sell it and buy a new one.
  11. Thanks Eddie. I am leaning towards the Vapour Alloy at the moment.
  12. Hi, I am after some advice and opinions. In the past I have done very little slalom skiing, but when I have I use a mates ski. I'm looking at getting my own so I can improve. The last couple of years I have ridden a Radar Vice Room 38 and absolutely love the speed and acceleration and the way it slices through the wake. At a demo day over the weekend I rode a Senate Lithium and Vapour Lithium 67 inch. Both were excellent skis, the Vapour seemed to be more aggressive while the Senate seemed a lot smoother. Both were flighty when cruising having a break (I know they are designed to be on edge all the time). I felt like I skied better on the Senate but my off turns were better on the Vapour. I am 77 kgs and 43. My limit for budget will get me a Vapour Alloy or a Senate Graphite with standard front open boot and rear ARTP which I am happy with. The little heel bootie may be off advantage to give my rear foot better stability. So the question - Am I better off getting the better material Senate Graphite or the newer shape (skinnier) Vapour Alloy. I normally jump on a ski and ski at a comfortable speed for the ski not a set speed. I test rode both the top of the line skis at 32 MPH and felt comfortable on them both. Will I, as a hack that loves the speed, notice much difference in the different materials. I can get a new Vice Room 38 with the same bindings for a little less. Is it silly considering such a buy? Any advice or suggestions are very welcome. Regards, David.
