  1. Eric, The cupholder can be mounted anywhere on the 2.5" section of the pylon, and with trick releases mounted to the 2" top, there's a lot of room for the cupholders to be placed. Not sure why one would mount so high as to interfere.
  2. @eleeski, do you have some photos or something showing the interference? Thanks, pb
  3. Yes, still made and sold. Peter at pebincdesigns dot com
  4. Really late to the party here, but thought I'd throw this out there. A fellow that Ed knows from his Palazzi Pond days is still going strong in Georges Mills, and every weekend morning (and some evenings) you'll find him and anywhere between 5 and 10 other ski boats lined up running the course. They float it and sink it for use. Sunapee is often a wild lake with wind across the center, and for that reason it's amazing how many skiers there are on it. It's the one place in New England, that I'm aware of, that regularly converts wakeboarders into skiers. The skiers ski, the skiers kids ski, and therefore the skiers kids friends.... You started something a long time ago Ed, and it's still going. pb
  5. Be careful with any of the direct drives. Leaning is a fast way to get the uphill exhaust manifold to overheat and start leaking around the (now dry) elbows, and cause future issues. Burying the rubrail on a corner adds to chance of water getting into the boat, and so on.... I have customer with a TXi that attempts this with ballast and people, and it hasn't worked out so far.....
  6. Blueski, I believe so, but I'm at a show tomorrow with a new 200, I'll verify.
  7. Okay Nautique owners, I've got 15 milled and black anodized to fit the larger Nautique pylon (2.480"). Email or call if you'd like one. Same as before, stainless or black plastic inserts. pb
  8. Just to clarify, as others posted, the 03-06 Lxi was one boat, the 07-11 Lxi was a completely new boat, and the 12-up TXi was another large change. (current generation) The 03-06 Lxi was an outgrowth of the Response and Response LX, using the same Diamond hull and just making it wider and longer. Great all-around boat. The '07-11 greatly improved the ride quality in chop, less (almost no) water over the bow, and good shortline ski wake. Long line length ski wake was debatably not as good. '12-up TXi fixed all that, by keeping the good ride and little bow attitude change for a dry ride, and improved the hull to give all skiers a great slalom wake. Noticeable change. Other item paid attention to was the '12-up is very much a driver's boat, with better windshield, dash and driver ergonomics. The '03-'06 LXI was the best longline barefoot table if using for multidiscipline, but the TXi ('12-up) is the best slalom of the line up. On a side note, the Response (closed bow) is still arguably one of the great buoy tractors for course-only use, such as private lakes. pb
  9. @thager, that's of course up to the individual, but my intent would be to never need that. In reality I doubt there will ever be one that is too small, unless someone is going to mount it on a tower leg. :) If someone takes sander to it, the first thing that happens is they will burn through the anodization, which isn't a big deal but it is a solid layer of corrosion protection and cosmetic durability. For the Nautique owners, I've milled out 15 pylon cup holder brackets sized for the Nautique pylon, so in a 7-10 days or so I should have them back from the anodizer and be able to ship. pb
  10. @Rawski, if it is truly a 3" like the Flightcraft outboards are, we might be out of luck. I need a minimum order of 30 to run an odd size, and even at that number the cost would be over $200 each. But, I doubt that it's that big.
  11. @ahopkinsTXi , you're making me google Oberon...
