  1. 2018 Nautique 200 Team with the 6.0l engine, ~380 hours

I’m experiencing the same issue - intermittent no start (crank), neutral button (below throttle lever) non functional.

Have no idea for how long that little button is not working as I never use it anyway.

The no cranking issue started last week when it took a couple attempts to get the boat to finally crank over and start. It started and ran fine like nothing had happened.

Yesterday it was even worse. Took forever to convince the boat to crank in the morning. When switching skiers at the end of the lake, we weren’t able to get it back running and we had to swim the boat in.

Swapped a brand new battery in, nothing changed.

Is there any way to check if the culprit is indeed the throttle box/assembly?

It’s a $700 part and I would hate to buy it only to find out that it doesn’t solve my problem.

One more thing that just came to my mind as I was posting this…

One day I pushed the starter button to fire her up and nothing happened - at first - after about 5 seconds or so, while I was still wondering why it hadn’t cranked (and not pushing any buttons nor even touching the throttle lever at that moment) all of a sudden she cranked and the boat started.

  2. I’m loving my S-Series! Quality is top notch.

Coming from a optimized 2.0, I couldn’t tell a difference in how the rope feels.

Just ordered a 2nd one (minus the 15off section) and another one for a neighbor.

Customer service is fantastic, Scott is super responsive and great to work with!

  3. When dropping at the end of the course and the driver distracts me by telling random life stories or lake gossip while I’m mentally preparing for the next pass.

There’s always a time for that, and I’m usually appreciative for that, but not in between passes.

  4. Same here, got it today. Great Service so far!

Went with the “S-Series”. Looks and feels like a quality product.

Even came with a rep sheet with measurements of every single section.

True test of course will be on the water.

Curious to see how it compares to my ML optimized ropes.

  5. So - if my rope breaks and I get hurt, Masterline covers my medical costs?

That’s ridiculous! And I don’t buy that for a second!

Seems like a really bad argument for ridiculous high product prices.

BTW - Did Parson reach out to you for compensation after the Masterline rope failure at one of last years tournaments. Was a pretty spectacular crash when the rope broke. I’m sure he got hurt pretty good.

  6. Cool!

Go through your usual warm up routine and be ready a couple minutes before the set is scheduled.

Set up shop on or near the dock, but be considerate to leave enough space for other skiers and their gear.

If you need soap to get into your bindings, bring a small container even though it’s mostly provided by the school.

Bring your own rope and handle (or at least the handle)!

Be on the dock, gloves and vest on and ski/boots ready.

If you use a hardshell, have it on your foot!

Hand over the rope/handle and let the coach/driver know about your preferred ZO settings, starting speed, and line length.

Follow the coaches advice of how to start the set. Most schools start from the dock, some take their students in the boat and idle to the drop zone.

If you bring company, ask the coach if he’s ok with them riding in the boat.

(Most the times there need to be weights shifted around the boat if a passenger is present.) Ask if it’s ok to take pics/videos while in the boat.

After your set, most of the coaches will have a quick follow up talk with you. Listen!!!

Don’t rush out, but also don’t stick around the coach too long and hold up the routine.

    You’ll figure it out.

Most importantly - Bring a positive attitude and have fun!!!

One thing I forgot - after you’re done, get your stuff out of the way!

Nothing more annoying than getting ready for a set and having to step around the dock, avoiding piles of wet gear cluttered everywhere.

Also - Check the Spraymakers podcast for the episode “How to get the most out of your coaching” or something along the lines - Lots of insights there!
