  1. Never an x but I have behind a Tige z3 in texas. At 28' off it's not the worst thing in a world considering what it's made to do, But it's definitely not a ski boat
  2. @Horton you mentioned the r style. have you ever had issue where the front hardshell will release, but you don't come out of the rear? I'm currently on Powershells and the idea not coming out together scares me. Especially after ankles surgeries
  3. @10fiecd I may have a 16' vtr 66" available. PM me if you're interested ?
  4. @dhofert tried a 15p opposed to what? Stainless? Really depends on the rpms you're currently pulling as to whether you can drop to a 13" most I/o have somewhere between a 17-21. If you have a removable hub, you can buy another prop and try it and keep whatever works. Or a good dealer will let you try other props to see what spins best for your boat. As for the wake, try different line lengths to see what feels the best. I know it's not a tournament boat but whatever gets you skiing!
  5. Bought one for the girlfriend last year, she loves it
  6. Do it right the first time like @bigskieridaho said and you won't have to worry every time you put the boat in!
  7. I think it was somewhere around 10-15 ft/lbs. i usually index the plugs, just don't snap them!
  8. If you're considering a 20 foot vdrive, give the tigé r20 or RZR a look. (Same hull different bells and whistles)
  9. @ski6jones I think you may be referring to "gator mod" look on YouTube
  10. @oldjeep was unaware of that, learn something new everyday
  11. Our fleet of 35 rental boats gets spray nined daily. Great stuff, use 303 or 3m protector after
  12. @oldjeep this is with a tractor so you can't use the plug in to lock them out, I was referring to taping the lock out key because it only stays in when you're applying pressure as soon as you pull ahead to readjust angle it falls out. Most "old" boat trailers were drum and would rust out after about 10-15 years . Not saying everyone would rather have electric brakes but I do

    carpet

Pressure washer and a little bit of spray nine in the carpet. Suck the water up with a shop vac, have someone follow as you wash if possible. We do this on hundreds of boats a year, hands down best way just be smart with the Pw
  14. @SDNAH2OSKIER I understand that completely as I'm a service manager. I dislike the hydraulic brakes on trailers due to the jerkiness of the tounge(much like a pintle hitch) and always having to tape a bolt in them to back them up with the tractor. The electric brakes are adjustable and as long as your vehicle has a brake controller are a far superior option. As far as my comment on deleting them completely I wouldn't recommend that unless you're in a big pinch, Short hauls with at least a 2500 hopefully with an exhaust brake. Just my .02 good luck!
  15. I'd convert to electric brakes or delete completely depending on your tow rig. The hydraulics just always fail eventually
  16. Heres a 2000 tsc1 on a mid 90s Malibu trailer. Most will fit on almost anything. Almost any trailer manufacturer will charge us as a dealer 2500-3000 for a trailer at cost. Call up boat dealers and see what's laying around.
  17. Regarding the kill switch you CAN by pass it for free if you are in a pinch. 3500 for the trailer is a good deal for a brand new one. Our yard trailer for direct drives is a 96 Malibu trailer for a response. And it fits any tsc1-3 hull on it quite nice, if you buy used just test fit it.The brakes really depend on what you pull with. But you can replace them yourself pretty cheap. Nice looking boat, enjoy it !!
  18. Trailers are 3k at COST any dealer will be charging you 4500 and up for a new one. Hours never scared me, as long as maintained. we see several with almost 2000 hours. A lot of of late night cruising etc. check the strut bearing, packing on rudder and driveshaft. How has it been winterized? All the freeze plugs original? Are there rust trails on the manifold from leaking risers? Could take it to a scale to see if the in floor foam is soaked. Is the steering cable original? It's nearing its life span at that age. Can't think of much else at this point. Looks like a sharp boat! Good luck and test drive it!
  19. I'm in the central adks and all the water is state owned but all the land is private owned with no public launch. One lake (white lake) we have a club but the course is only permitted to be in on weekends. Usually always nice water though.
  20. T gas was a great experience. Super cool guy and great atmosphere
  21. Speaking of versatility. We went to the Tigé dealer days last march and I skiied behind a r20. Very similar mold to their old I20. 25% ballast up front and taps set to 3-4 and it's a pretty decent wake. Comparable to a tsc1 at 28 and shorter.
  22. We winterize around 300 boats a fall here, I would change the oil, and pull the inlet hose and run 5gal of RV antifreeze thru after you warm it up and open the tstat. Don't let the block sit empty it will rust. If you're in a pinch you can pull the drain plugs. Should have 2 block drains 2 exh manifold drains, water pump drain and yank the line off the trans cooler and also drain your strainer. But beware, those plugs can only go in and come out so many times. Threads rust and then you'll be getting a heli coil.
  23. @Mark_Matis I just skiied with t-gas early this month and he said that they gave the walk thru boat to will Asher and didn't want him to have it at the school because the boat they release won't have a walk thru. Or something to that extent
