  1. @swbca you have no way to precisely measure measure what come off, or you put back on, or consistency over the area. This is quite frankly a chop-shop practice no longer needed. The dozens of iterations tested in development, modernized ski construction, and the proven performance envelopes of modern skis have long since eliminated those things done decades ago, which even then were simply WAG's. With the known capabilities of any modern ski you pick being far above what you or your son are skiing there's no question that your suggested hacking on the ski is not needed. Focus on technique and personal performance, not changing the stick.

  2. @Horton - can you please back up and provide some essential background information? As already asked is this fire alarm due to certain states considering bills? Other? As your post cites specifics (1500, etc.) and the panic call to arms of 24-36 hours, there is something on a page somewhere.  I can't imagine this is some national initiative as these issues are all typically handled at the State levels. Before anyone is going to stat machine gunning form letters we need better information please.

More important than your handle diameter could be if the pocket of your trunks is flapping in the wind. Perhaps we should just go ski… some of these ideas have legs and some do not.

That’s definitely it. All the unconscious shifting of body position to counter the resistance caused by flapping pockets! Correct that and you’ll probably gain a full pass . Love it…..

  4. I’m not a Nautique guy but you know the core sources to review for comps . Might be able to get Larry from SIA to pull all the 98-99’s that were listed for past year or so. No idea if he could/would but that would be your best source of course for serious skier listings . You could always make a SIA donation . I watch SIA daily for things and do watch boats but just for fun as not in the market to replace. From what I’ve seen I’d estimate low 20’s high side if pristine and those hours , but others here are much more wired to that vintage market. I ski a 99 regularly but not mine. Good luck with the sale. Will make someone very happy!
