  1. I totally agree I have built many small blocks and they are awesome, but the technology in these new motors are incredible!
  2. I think skierjp is spot on! the GM direct injection engine's especially the 6.2 LT1 introduced in the 2014 corvette are an engineering marvel. more Hp, torque and fuel economy while I do agree the Chevrolet 5.7 or Ford 5.8 engine's are great power plants there is no comparison, the 5.7 was developed in the 1960's and hasn't been in a production vehicle in close to 25yrs
  3. Hey ballers My name is Paul Montgomery, I'm 54, I learned to ski around 11 years old on Lake Muskoka in Ontario Canada, growing up my father was the chef at a summer lodge called Bangor Lodge, in my early teen's I had the summer job of ski instructor at the lodge, it was mostly teaching first timers then drop a ski, all open water skiing, great memories! in my high school years we moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where we would start skiing in the intercostal, it wasn't until my late twenties that I would build a house on a private lake in Deland, Florida with a ski course, shortly after we bought a new 1995 Ski Nautique from Southeast Correct Craft we had a chance to meet Ralph Meloon and tour the old factory it was an awesome experience, that sold me on Correct Craft for life, we would keep that boat for 22 years, in 2017 we ordered a new 200 from Jeff at Orlando Nautiques (great guy). In the summer we pick a month and have a ski school for the kids around the lake every Saturday morning I don't think kids today have the chance to ski as I did growing up, we've had as may as 30 kids learn to ski on a Saturday! I still have friend's from Canada show up for skiing in the winter, so if any Muskoka boys are in Florida for the winter look me up for a free ski, I'm 10minutes west of Daytona Beach on I4 heading towards Orlando, and if you want a course lesson I'm very fortunate to have Chris Parrish 5 minutes away!
  4. I live on a private lake in Florida, for the last three years a friend and I have held a one month ski school every Saturday from 9 to 12 in the summer, it's a everybody's invited just show up we provide everything, mostly for the kids but adults too, the main reason I do this is because when I was young and didn't live directly on the lake my friends shared skiing with me, so I'm trying to give back, secondly I love this sport and want to share it, we have taught at least a hundred kids to ski, this year I have two brothers 13 and 14 both have that natural talent, and are eager to learn more, sine there first lesson they have progressed to slalom and are eager learn the course, on there last lesson they told there mom they want to buy new slalom ski's, I believe that's how we grow this great sport! I'm not sure who's getting more enjoyment watching them ski, them or me!
  5. @TheBigHead let me first say I agree call Malibu they will be more than happy to assist you. with that said an exhaust pitch change can tell you a lot, how many hours are on the boat?
  6. I'm curious does the exhaust note/sound change when the boat is up to speed?

    Check Engine Light

which motor do you have? and year of the boat? to reset the engine's computer you would take the negative and positive cable off the battery, tape the cables together for 30minutes then put them back on correctly, I would recommend covering the battery to make sure there are no mistakes. however this my or may not clear your check engine light, it may take a scanner. also doing this you will lose any setting, how is the boat running?
  8. That definitely stinks, if you end up needing to fix yourself 3M makes some great 2 part bonding adhesive's I would recommend going to a Ben's automotive paint store for the product a couple of good clamps and 24hrs to bond, done correctly you will have no more problems
  9. Horton I love your enthusiasm I believe in giving back! , quick story for you, I live on a private lake with a ski course, as with most of us I feel I was given the opportunity to ski at a young age, its an opportunity that I don't think most kids get today, so three years ago I decided to do something about it, I sent an email to everyone on the lake telling them for one month every Saturday from 10am to 1pm we would give free ski lessons all they have to do is show up we provide the ski's jackets boat and gas, I want to tell you personally from my neighbor who helps me, my wife and I, this event has been life changing, we've had as many as 30 new skiers on one Saturday and to see the smile on there face after they've skied around the lake is priceless, they bring there friends, neighbors and relatives, I think I enjoy it more than them, not only that with educating them they are respecting my sport, If someone has a party and there are jet skis or a wake board boat on the lake the residents will tell them to stay away from the ski Couse, and they know when I'm skiing the residents respect that and don't make waves, its like I broke the barrier and now they want to try the ski course!
  10. I have been using the wakeye for a couple of years with my iphone, the wakeye app is very easy to use just set your speed and no more viewing unwanted video, I had one issue with the arm after a year of use so I contacted them to buy a new arm, John from wakeye told me they had made an upgrade to the part and sent it to me at no charge, to say I'm impressed would be an understatement I ski an average of 5 days a week so it gets a lot of use and reviewing my skiing on my phone is an awesome trainer
  11. You can't go wrong either way, personal opinion Nautique PCM have done a great job giving there customers leading technology when it comes to engine choices, I ordered a 2017 last year, I ended up with the 6.2H6 but it is over kill the 6.0 is a great engine but the technology is stating to date itself, cast iron block aluminum heads and port injection, but the engine is a work horse, The 5.3 H5 new design in 2014 aluminum block and heads direct cooling from the lake and direct injection which is more efficient on gas with more power and less weight, the gm marine website would be a great site for you to visit good luck Paul
