  1. Hi Mark:  I'm planning on skiing at Eden in Feb 5 thru 13.  And I would very much like to checkout your place. Arthur is off on Wednesday so could I come up and take a set with you, please.  Last time when Arthur wasn't available I actually drove to Lauderdale, it was a fun place to ski.  Thank you

  2. I just redid my jump after 30 years. Old floation was the Dow Billets, found new on line at a place in Florida. Bought the same as I had. They are the long blue blocks and we have all kind of critters and nothing eats them. the advantage I see over the boxes they are easy to work with as far as spacing, easy to cut with saw. They worked great for me. I also have some old if you need any let me know. Text me your phone and I'll send you photos of mine
  3. You do not have to do Safe Sport to join and you have 30 days to complete Safe Sport after you join. So if you want to compete in a tournament in those 30days you can. But, your scores aren't official till after you complete Safe Sport. Now true Story my Grand Son joined In late June so the web site wouldn't even allow him to sign up for tournament in July. But they were notified he was planning on skiing. He did complete safe sport 2 days before. Skied on Saturday. Scorer didn't put him in, (don't know why) His score did not appear in scorebook. Check with AWSA and yes he was safe sport qualified. Scorer would not correct scorebook. So he lost his PB. But, the sad fact is it was a 3 event slalom and it was over in 4 hours. Where are the all the skiers?
  4. A skier named Kenny Wolf in Ohio made me a hard shell trick binder in late 70's. He used a roller blade boot mounted on Hard plastic, and it was secured on the ski with with 3M triple loop velco. The plate had to be hammered on with a rubber mallet. When you caught an edge it would release. At the time it was much safer than a rubber boot.
  5. @klindy: In the Safe Sport announcement: 1477 members are already safe sport trained! Where did they come up with this number. If you check in the Officials Directory under USA Safe Sport Trained the Number is under 600?
  6. This post is not asking how people feel about being told what to do but more about what is happening with AWSA are they really interested in "growing the sport" or do they even care. This isn't about just tournament skiers but about all skiers. How are they trying to make skiing easier for people to get into the sport?
  7. Is the USA Water Ski Board of Directors trying to grow the sport or help kill it with their decision about Safe Sport? When I first glanced at the head line today I figured it was meant for safety, judges and tournament personnel. But, that's not the case at all. In 2022 anyone over 18 has to take the Safe Sport Course on line, if you want to ski. But, big deal it's free.
