  1. I am not on this site as much as I would like, but just received your email and was PUMPED to see you converted the times! Thank you!!! This worked out well for me last year as I had a new born, and my wife was thrilled I was willing to be up to help in the rough hours! Hahah
  2. Heading to Orlando Sunday Morning to ski!
  3. I wish I was as lucky. Given it is a public course, I am glad people are enjoying the lake. I just wish when they accidentally snag my course with an anchor, they drop it... Hah.. I definitely couldn't ask for a permit to keep it up all the time. I believe the ski community is in a good spot with our local lake regs, I definitely do not want to rock that boat. I thought about getting some custom little signs (like animal ear tags) that I could spread down the course to say "waterski course, do not cut" to eliminate confusion that the line they snag is indeed intended to be there. I am leaning more and more towards the accufloat. Again, I am appreciative of everyone's input.
  4. I appreciate all the insight and ideas. Yes, my group and I would prefer the course as we have had that bug for about 6 years now and it has generated some great connections on the lake with other very early morning skiers. It's good to know the accufloat system can be submerged similar to my old EZ slalom. It makes sense that it would be. I like to keep it at the bottom of the lake to limit the fishermen risk. Our biggest issue has been renters/weekenders snagging anchors, so I definitely want to stay away from sub buoys etc. I may be leaning more accufloat.... I may give it a weekend to think about despite wanting to get out there ASAP. It is killing me not to be out there.
  5. I have skied this boat in person many times. I can at least add that the description and care is 100% accurate. I am sometimes the last one to ski and can attest it is wiped down and taken well care of. I believe I have a PB behind it too hah. I love the interior color choice. It is worth a look and call. Corey is always very upfront.
  6. Hi all, I am an armature public lake skier (NC/VA line) who used an EZ slalom course that I used as a simi-permanent course. (ie we would float the course up with buoys early morning each use and remove buoys immediately after use). I was able to repair the course a few times due to public lake anchor snags and moved the course slightly from shore to deter accidental snags, but I was hit again with a snag about a week ago that whoever pulled up the course also cut it and drug it around to the point most of my PVC pipes were broken or missing. I unfortunately deemed the course a loss and am looking for new options. To clarify, the course rests on the bottom of the lake between 10-23ft deep and I believe each instance has been accidental. My current thought process given I still have buoys and anchors: 1. Purchase an Insta slalom with steel mainline to give me basically my old functionality back. $1.8k turnkey and I could get it this week. 2. Purchase Accufloat system but it appears I need to slightly amend this course to be able to quickly take bouys off and sink, correct? It does not appear the Accufloat design is really intended to be sunk after each use. I will need to measure and purchase my own PVC, which based on my estimate I would be about ~$1.3k all in. 3. Other suggestions or ideas I am not considering? Thanks in advance for this great group of knowledge. Congrats to Ed for retiring! His course held up terrific for me and my little group!
  7. @dave2ball my message was certainly not an attack. However, I think it is OK to acknowledge that despite the sport being small, in an age with ample social media, I found it surprising I couldn't find enough info to make a confident decision about traveling or not 3-4 weeks out. I acknowledge I could be in the wrong, but it prompted me to post when others pointed out that parts of the site were out of date too. I wasn't looking for local ads in VA or NC.... simply looking for a schedule button that worked. Especially one that it appears sponsors were putting money toward? I love the sport like everyone here. I may not be a judge or super competitive, but I enjoy supporting it and growing it locally. Again, super thankful for TWBC. It was a fun tournament to watch. I wish I was there.
  8. Definitely props to the TWBC, but I am pretty irritated with the lack of promotion for the King of Darkness event. It is as if the sponsors only wanted pros and locals to attend? I considered planning a trip to go to this event about a month ago, but when I researched the event, it looked like ONLY a jump event. That combined with the schedule from 2021, I just decided to give up. Fast forward to last week when I realized via Instagram that some of the slalomers were prepping for the event too!???? I would say I am a well above average fan (and a big MC fan) and I am the first to say that the lack of promotion was embarrassing for the sport. I loved the idea of the tournament, and it appears they got a big crowd, but you would think the promoters would lose their minds that the only website with a schedule had the WRONG INFO.
  9. I plan to ski Saturday and Sunday in northern North Carolina/southern Virginia. Water temps have been in the upper 60s. Air temps should be around 70-73 all weekend. We are not giving up yet. Skied some of my better passes last weekend! Getting set up for a strong 2021!

  11. @mccowherd2006 I am late to the party here but I have a course in Gaston that we put up in the mornings on the weekends for a few hours. I believe the rule is you can have a "temporary course" and dominion wont care. There are a few local big names that do the same but they are a tick more hard core than I am. Very fun to watch though.
