  1. That makes sense to me but I was reading last night and it said to move it forward to turn tighter. I tried it out tonight but didn’t get a good run through the course lots of surf boats and tubers our tonight. Is there a good guide or post to general ski setup and what does what as far as binding position and fun and wing setup?
  2. So I am going to try adjusting my binding location and play with the fin a bit but I don’t really know what I’m doing, I’ve spent some time reading online but what do I know? I have a 2017 senate alloy and it doesn’t seem to turn as well as my old 2015 concept, my skiing hasn’t improved at all with this ski and I miss the concept so I am hoping some adjustments from the stock middle setting might help. I am a beginner skier I get through the course easy at 28 and 30 15 off sometimes 22 off at 30 but can only get 4 or 5 at best at 32 so close but not improving. Anyway I’m thinking of moving both bindings forward to turn better and maybe removing the wing. Try each at a time and record the old settings of course. My understanding is that this should make it turn easier is that generally right?
  3. I went out the other night and with the wife and 3 kids probably weighing 350 lbs total or so and it seemed pretty good but then again I haven’t skied since Sept. I will give it a try at 28 off and see if I can get through the course at 30, just waiting for the course to get out in it’s early up here and not many skiers out yet. I would like a 200 ob but it’s not in the cards this year for sure probably 20+ to upgrade to a decent used one. I like the tower for when we’re out as a family or with friends so we can put the rope up high and use the back seat and don’t know if I would get a lot of heat if it were gone and people had to crowd into the front. I would like one of those Center jump seats that would help but then that’s more weight.
  4. I have an 06 Nautique 216 sport. I am really happy with the boat as budget family ski/play boat but the wake has a good bump at 22 off. I ski at 30/32 15/22 off and would like the bump to be smaller for sure. I took out the ballast and pumps and saved about 80 lbs and am eying the tower for another 100-120 ish. I figure I could get 300 lbs without really hurting anything. Am I going to notice any difference or is the longer hill on the boat going to hold the wake back despite weight savings?
  5. Was probably 55 this mornin here but water was 67. Things got warm real quick though when I stopped the boat and heard water rushing. Had the plug out last night and forgot to put it in was a close call for sure my buddy was about to jump out the back and we had been out for 5-10 minutes water was almost over the battery! Yikes
  6. So heaters going good and air dams in looking for heated seat parts and a shower . Never thought to prefill the wetsuit with warm water that's brilliant. So is bringing a cooler of warm water. Also going to shop for a full Camaro wetsuit and neoprene cap for the spring. Thanks for the ideas
  7. Lake was 64 this morning down 10 degrees in a week we had some bad weather though should have 2 more weeks for sure with the current forecast here before I get to chicken.
  8. #mnshortliner a good full wetsuit might be the way to go I didn't realize they didn't let much water in. I have 2 shorties and they just help with the initial shock it seems. I have a heater in the boat but might look at the hot shower im sure I can find a thread somewhere on the basics to do it. Also going to look into the heated seat got to keep the spotter warm or I'm not going skiing often. I have skied around on the day we get breakup in May and into October but more as a novelty where I concentrate on not falling rather than ripping it up. It would be nice to get a good 4 month season in the lake.
  9. Not sure about where you are all at but here in north Sask the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder. Saw 5 C earlier in the week as a low and the lake temps are starting to drop. I'm sure I can keep from whining to much for a week or two but I'm wondering what you guys do to extend the ski season. Right now I'm sort of a mid June to end of August skier and if I could get another month or two in that would be great. I use a shorty wetsuit in the early and late season and am considering getting a full but should I go to a dry suit? Also need an air dam in the front of the boat to help keep it warmer and am wondering if anyone ever added heated seats to a boat that didn't have them. Any tips are appreciated or should I just go hunting?
  10. So tried out the new senate alloy last night and today feels good but not the black and white I was hoping for guess I'm still going to have to work on my technique. At 32 mph I managed 4 bouys which I did before and at 30 I got 22 off which is a new pb. Ate it at 32 pretty good and shut it down. Ski turns faster for sure and carries more speed too.
  11. So the rope is 64' handle to tip so I have been skiing 11' off I guess. Need to fix that. My ski is a concept with wing. Have a new senate ordered should be here in a day or two. Thanks for the tips will try concentrating on stacking and pulling to the hips.
  12. Yah I lost the two sections but I'm running all the rope that's left so I think it's 60. I'm sure the order of the colors is all wrong from what it's supposed to be. Been thinking about a new rope with the distance marked but haven't gotten there yet
  13. I caught the rope in the prop and lost a red loop and maybe another one so I think what is left is 60' I will measure it tonight to make sure
  14. So I am hoping to get a bit of help with my terrible slalom technique, to date my coach has been utube videos and my buddy who is learning to slalom with me. The videos have been a bit helpful for sure but my buddy figures we should probably stop what were doing immediately. Anyway I am hoping that you guys can take a look at this and give me the biggest couple areas I should be working on, I have been trying keep a stacked position and pretty sure I'm starting my turn to late and my arms sure flail around but what do I know. This vid is my first successful 30mph run last week and I would like to get up into 34 this summer if possible.
  15. @brettmag I checked with backside and they didnt have what I was looking for in a 69 they had a tx but I think I wanted the cx or the senate. Ordered a senate from Shuswap so hopefully it will get here by the weekend. The concept felt pretty good tonight so can't wait to try a newer ski.
