  1. I can endorse the Carbon Pro at long lines and slow speeds. I have a 2016 that matches the 2012 SN 200 our club had as they are wake friendly at those conditions. It's a bare bones slalom tow boat at less money than a SN. There is also a You Tube video that demonstrates the CP wake at speeds and rope lengths. I also get behind a 2002 Malibu Response LX that produces soft and low wakes behind the boat too.
  2. Thanks for the follow up. Please ask your friends what tube they used as a replacement. That is what I am really in need of. The internet is helpful to a point but I have gone through several replacements and its getting old having to deal with this. thanks again Jim
  3. Thank you for your response. Course pressure is not the problem, no other tube is having this issue. This is a matter of inner tube size, and the sub containment, I believe. If you have ever had a tube fail, usually a valve stem crack, what did you replace it with? Smaller R-13 inner tubes don't seem to exist anymore.
  4. Accusink problems. I am in need of suggestions for inner tube replacements. I believe the original tubes were R-13" auto tires, but am only guessing. I have been unable to find this size. My 20+ year old system has most of the original tubes, however one has recently failed. I have substituted both R-15 and small lawn tractor tubes but within a couple air cycles they have all popped in various places. I suspect the issue is that this size is to large/small for the submarine and folds over on itself during inflation and creates excess pressure. Boom! I have carefully inspected the inside of the sub for culprits as well as the sand too, but no suspect found. I filled the cavity on the cap interior. I inflate at about 12 PSI. I contacted Wally at Wally sinker but no ideas/suggestions. Now I turn to the Forum. Thanks, Jim
  5. I still don't see a 2018 Carbon Pro on the either the Centurion or Supreme web sites. Should I conclude the days of a closed bow, direct drive, ski boat are over with this manufacturer. Or maybe I'm missing something?
  6. Just in case anyone revisits this thread I wanted to follow up on my ski boat testing. In the last 3 weeks I got pulls behind a 2012 TXI, 2006 LXI and 2016 Centurion Carbon Pro. All boats were skied at 22' and 28' off and 32 and 34mph. The CP had zero off. Remember I am only interested in a slalom machine that produced the best wake quality in my opinion. Hands down the Centurion was my favorite, especially with the Zero off. Bringing my 2 ski partners for a visit behind this boat cause they want to see for themselves. It's the boat I want to buy going forward but I realize it does not fit the bill as a family boat. The '06 LXI was also an enjoyable ski however, It's wake was no better than the '02 SN196 I ski behind. I did think the LXI 22' @ 32mph was smaller/softer than the 196. The important issue I found was that all 3 test skiers hated the 22'@ 32mph wake on the 2012 TXI. As one friend said, I would not subject my daughter to this. So there you have it, I took all of your advise and put these boats to my own test. Many thanks to whoever suggested I look at the Carbon pro.
  7. IMHO, you get what you pay for, In our group of skiers, 5 guys share one rope/handle until it's shot/unsafe. In 2016 we wore the masterline handle rubber down to a "customized grip" (Kevlar gloves) and no fray on the bridal line. We were happy with that quality, but tried to save $. Started 2017 with a new radar handle and have been unsatisfied with the product. Bridal line fray was the issue. No, the ski was not touching the rope to cause this, we protected the new line with poly tubing. Returned to manufacturer and got a new one. Same issue. The nylon strands pop under tension causing a fray issue. 2018 will start off with a new Masterline.
  8. I got the same line from my ortho, 20+/- yrs, he relates longevity to amount of impact and activity. He is still using older Stryker model, tried and proven but not created for sports minded people. I have not done my complete research yet and I'm learning as I go. The injection route got me through 2 ski seasons then stopped helping. Now I just ski with a permanently swollen and range limited knee.
  9. Thanks guys, I am 58 and have put this off as long as possible. It's starting to have affects on other parts of my body. Have been giving up activities because of this. On the plus side I have been forced to discover surfing and paddle surfing, which i really enjoy now. Have you had Fixed bearing or Mobile bearing prosthesis?
  10. I have been using my Accusink setup for 12 years. Lake depth runs from 6' to 12' along the course. Muddy and weeds also. Our supply line run is 300' using a 1/2" ID. Pancake style compressed fills in 10 minutes Silt tends to fill the PVC over the years, condensation builds up in the air lines during the summer months, and inner tubes need sporadic replacement. All said, it's the best money I have ever spent on ski stuff. I am moving my air supply to another dock which requires 700' of hose. Will let you know if this presents problems. My ski partner has moved to a nearby lake and will use the wally sinker setup.
  11. Please share your thoughts and experiences if you have undergone TNR surgery. Also include which type/manufacturer. I am preparing for one in March 2018. Thank you, Jim
  12. Thank you all, this is great info and my slalom boat hunt continues. I have reached out to local dealers for 2006 - 2009 SN 196 or a Malibu LX 2006 - 2009 models that come in on trade. I hope for a test ski before the ice comes. Regards, Jim.
  13. Hi, I am looking at changing slalom boats and am in the market for a SN 196 2003-2010. I have 15 years course skiing behind my 1995 and 1996 Malibu Responses. Set my PB at 2 1/2 balls at 32 off at 34 mph behind these boats this year. I also owned a 2011 SN 200 for 3 years. Beautiful boat and miss the zero off PP, but am no longer in the $ 40-$50K market. I am currently sharing a 2002 SN 196, TSC2 Hull, with a buddy and do not care for the wake at 22 and 28 off with a 32-34mph speed. This is where I normally ski day to day. I also have just skied a 1999 TSC hull and liked it a little more than the TSC2. No issues with these boats at shorter line and faster speeds as one would expect. With this background in mind and assuming I can't get behind a 2006 or newer TSC3 Hull just yet, any comparative inputs from slalom skiers would be appreciated.
