  1. Agree all around awesome place a place we should all support by buying from them. I just took my Radar front boot in for fixing the BOA wire that tightens and I was done in 20 minutes, plus I picked up a few needed items .
  2. Touchless Boat cover while not inexpensive is by far the best time saver. If you have a tower there is no quick fix other than this.
  3. I am a MC guy but on my lake we have both a 2015 Nautique 200 with the 6.0 and my 2015 MC. From a driving perspective in the course the difference is not measurable. I prefer the MC wake and pull. I have skied behind the new Nautique and really liked it but it appears to be quite a few dollars more. I did not drive it. If you really like the 200 they still make one minus the ski lockers open bow that is probably competitive in price with the Mc
  4. Could it be he is letting the ski finish then turn and the hooking up vs. reaching early forcing the turn creating slack. That turn is amazing
  5. Doug Meeker is awesome. I sold my 197 to a guy in Iowa and agreag to drive it out to him from Carolina. Kitty Hawk NC no less as far east as man can go. Just happened Doug had a new Prostar I could pick up on the way home. Great deal one of my favorite all time color schemes. He equips the boat's awesomely
  6. I operate OBX Wakeboard & Water-Ski in Kitty Hawk NC. We don't get to most of the ski and wakeboard scene in the western part of the state due to proximity but we teach hundreds of first timers the sport of wakeboarding & water skiing. Our split between the two is 40% ski and 60% wakeboard. We work with Chris and April for our MC boat's and encourage out beginner students to consider a week at Coble ski school. Chris and April in turn send us clients when they are full or heading out for a week on the Outer Banks. As to Pro Shops the scene in NC is to spread out to have a true pro shop. The best on the east coast IMO is Orlando's Performance Ski & Surf some have referenced here. I head to Florida in the winter and always enjoy a few trips to their store to see equipment in real time vs. always on line.
  7. I do agree the LXI is better than the X9
  8. I had several X9s and I like them all for the size and space. I skied the course with at 22, 28, & 32 off and it was fine. But if your a purest and want to continue improving you'll evetualeve want a 197 or newer Prostar. Get a good price enjoy for a few years and up grade to what will then be an older new hull Prostar
  9. An HO rear toe plate is pretty inexpensive and my personal favorite after 10+ years of double boot I went to a RTP and while it took a while I will never go back. Plus it's less expensive to replace the front boot when needed
  10. Just not skiing stinks am I better because of it that I am not so sure. But skiing in Florida in the winter is awesome.
  11. Scott Smith already offers water skiing in Cancun in the hotel strip area. He is really awesome. He inspired me to do my VRBO in Florida and start OBX Wakeboard & Water Ski. He does go in salt water but he is on the bay side and has several courses set up based on wind conditions. I do hope he is involved with this but don't know. Google Cancun water ski and find him
  12. You can Google Earth lake Florence. We are about 150 acre lake with the course close the Montverde Academy side .They own about 25% of the shoreline. When I came here 2003 it was just Kris Jennifer myself and 2 guys no good friends that skied occasionally. My boys were not even tennagers at the time and we became good friends with Kris and Jen as they had a daughter the boys age and there were not a lot of kids in the area. We would bring a bunch of kids with us and own the lake almost the whole time. It was awesome fun .
  13. As a follow-up Kris LaPoint and Jennifer did live on the lake and installed the house. I also have 2 lots for sell on the lake .I was going to set sp a separate VRBO house but just became to expensive but I still might do if one lot sells. House comes with new Prostar, when I get back to offering Great groupof us skiers but not to many. We have a second course we si if needed due to wind
  14. Hey ballers it is my house in Montverde they are talking about at the beginning of the thread. We are remodeling and hope to be done by June or July. I am using the hiuho however most of the winter months. It open from June to December 23. We come down the day after Christmas. You can call me in the future if you want those times. Fall is faboulus. 252-256-2018
  15. Radar. Tried others HO Good D3 and I keep going back. Top line 2016 ski from Radar is still my favorite all time
  16. You cannot wake surf in 10 feet IMO you need as close to 20 as you can get I also agree the lakes are likely to narrow to wake surf. Gald to see the project though
  17. Way to go Shaun great to see. Chase a few buoys and get addicted next time
  18. The great thing about today's boats and speed control is you can practice at any speed. I often just take some of the edge off and ski 33.6 or 33.8 Workin my way up to 34 mostly at 28 off and then drop it back to something in the middle for a 32 and 35 off attempt . But you do have to have a newer speed contric to do this but even the 2009 zero has this. The new Nautique actually gives you the time .33.6 is close to a perfect pass in tolerance pass before zero off
  19. I've been offering this for years just outside Clermont FL. I had the home on VRBO until this spring when I took it down for a remodel I hope to start soon. The home was in Water Ski Magizine a few years back and been on the MC Team talk thread. Remodel has yet to take off but my repeats keep calling and coming back. You can reach me at waterskivacations@gmail.com if your interested .comes with 2015 Prostar, volley ball beach, outside ping pong table and access to private golf club and course 1 mile from home.
