  1. Dont forget the Syndicate Pro either - HO still sells the Syndicate Pro
  2. @Horton I give them the ability to ski at least 3 time a week during school terms if they want, access to coaching when its available and we send them to ski schools when they are keen. This is our 3rd year tournament waterskiing so we are still learning what works best for each kid. but we keep it fun - Joel Poland has helped, hand drags around 6 ball and instagram posts are pretty standard - my son got all excided because Ball of Spray started following him on instagram the other day......
  3. My 14 year old boy wants to run 38 off in a comp before going up a speed in July, jump over 30m and learn a flip. My 12 year old girl wants to run 28off.
  4. Personal preference, preferred the interior, got better service from the dealer. In the end there isn't much difference between the boats, i had a nautique and probably had some brand loyalty.
  5. yes she did and does ski behind it.
  6. Thanks for everyone's advice, the boat has finally arrived and we are loving it. I cant believe that this original post was over a year ago.... but it was worth the wait.
  7. Just started using the wake eye app with a ski doc - love it.. Would pay for a better app, but really the auto start stop feature is the main reason for installing it. When we manually started the iphone on the ski doc there was too much camera shake, i had to use the front (selfie camera) camera to get a decent picture. Because wake eye only uses 1 camera lens I think that helped reduce the picture shake.
  8. Mr Hazelwood, we are starved for water ski content online. Post whatever you want (or can - within your time constrains), we prefer the off water stuff. Length not the issue, just try to keep the same quality of content, which makes it easy to watch and leaves us wishing it was longer.
  9. I'm putting my foot down .....no skis this year - enough is enough, the kids can bloody well use their slalom skis for another year.....
  10. We all can't believe how much ski boat prices have risen over the last few years, but are water ski prices going the same way? The new Radar Vapor 2024 water-ski is available for pre-order in Australia for $3000 ($2999). Last years stock retailed for $2669 AUD. 2023 DV-8s retail for $2,229 and the HO Syndicate Works broke the $2,500 (AUD) barrier last season but a 2024 Works is advertised for pre-sale at $2199 (AUD) (hopefully this is not a mis-print) ..... There is a lot of price variation for brand to brand and ski to ski. I assume R&D would generally focus on the higher end skis in a range and that is an obvious cost, freight and other selling costs have also risen post COVID. I want manufacturers to be profitable so they develop better skis, but is there a limit to the price skiers will pay for a new ski, or are we all just in the mindset that this is a very expensive sport and we are will to pay whatever? Or for most regular skiers, money is not really a concern? Second-hand skis are readily available to reduce costs but still...... $3000 for a ski must be starting to push the limits of even the most passionate skier. It will have an impact on the cost of second hand skis but by how much, will depend on who buys the new skis I suppose.... Any thoughts?
  11. Do skis wear out? We have these carbon fibre beasts that flex and bend through a slalom course, get hit by sun and water and then get punished through the course again. Radar talks about it PMI core that flexes back into shape quicker than any other core, but I wonder if the more we use these skis the slower they become? Maybe its not the slight changes to shape, but the renewing of the core and carbon fibre that makes a new ski feel so much more responsive and better? Any thoughts?
