  1. @Roundrobin20 I saw a post on their FB page saying that would be announcing something new next week before nationals.
  2. @chaloux There is no issue if you run out of lake if you watch the Perfect Pass videos. Simply slow down to a stop. Then turn around and bring her back up to speed. It will then finish it's calibration. I had to do this with my dad's boat is we used the smooth end of the lake to calibrate his. Was too windy on the long side.
  3. @Liamfm Yes we are spoiled. I remember that my dad and I would use hand signals to let the skier know we were up to the correct speed before cutting behind the boat before the PP days. It's much easier to focus on staying centered with PP now. Let me know how your upgrade goes. Just follow the directions good. PP has some good videos on the auto calibrate. Had to do it twice in my dads boat cause the first time around the weather wasn't the best. You want a smooth day to calibrate it. Good luck!!
  4. When I got my used 2005 Response LX in 2015 it didn’t have PP. I went with wakeboard mode cause as novice course skiers we would set the speed and go. The problem is my engine would overshoot the speed or surge like crazy especially at 34mph. It would surge up to 36mph which would just kill my pass. I wanted to upgrade my dads 06 Response to Stargazer at the time and was speaking with Mark at PO about my surging issues. I did the upgrade to 3 Event 9.2 and the pull and the boat are so so much better. Plus you can get all the modes out of 3 event software. We typically run in Slalom Practice mode. I took our neighbor at 34mph the other night and the speed stayed solid at 33.9 to 34 mph. Very solid. The upgrade is simple with the USB Stick. PP gives great instructions. Take about 5 minutes total which includes taking the cover off the computer. Then on a smooth morning you run AutoCal mode and it will calibrate all the speeds. I’m super happy with the upgrade and hopefully you will be too. If you have any issues get with Mark Schwarz at Perfect Pass. He’s extremely helpful.
  5. Use Babes Boot Butter. It’s made from kelp and it’s 100% biodegradable.
  6. I upgraded from Wake Edition to 3 Event 9.2 and it made a major difference. The boat speed locks in and holds much better. The pull is very consistent compared to wake mode. I upgraded my boat and my dads and we like it very much. I’d highly recommend it.
  7. I’ve been using them for two years. I’m a fan of the new version. Rubber fits better and definitely more comfortable. I just miss the rear strap to help pull them on.
  8. My dad and I started using one again. I hear from the other guys on the lake “the pros don’t use them!” It’s like it’s not cool if you have one. I hear these horror stories and have taken some good falls over the years. I have never had an issue with the guards getting in my way.
  9. Has anyone purchased the new HO Connect Gloves yet? Been a fan of the Tail 41’s for years as they are great and last a long time. I was curious if anyone is using the HO Connect now and what do they think.
  10. @MNshortliner Yes - I believe mine is the same. It goes into some type of sleeve. I tightened it up. We'll see how she holds. I am going to inquire on a torque spec with Malibu on it also.
  11. Hey, I'm back again. So this past weekend we skied and the boat ran fine. I checked the prop and it seemed fine. I pulled the boat to winterize it and was able to tighten the ski pylon more. I can't say the pylon itself was loose but I was able to wrench down the through bolt at the bottom of the pylon. I have a 2005 Response LX. I made the pylon as tight as possible. Is that okay or is there a torque spec I should be following? No transmission issues from what I can tell. I did put a tad more fluid in but that was it.
  12. @kurtis500 No - it only happened 3 times this summer I can recall including this past Saturday. @UWSkier - Not with an adult. I have only testing with my son yesterday.
  13. @BraceMaker So putting a big magnet on the bell housing I may catch a spring I assume?
  14. @MNshortliner I actually did that quite a few times yesterday when I took her out for a test drive. I did not get any of those sounds. Put it in reverse (honestly needed to clean weeds) and then in drive and it was fine....
  15. @kurtis500 No offense taken. I'm a desk jockey but do a decent job mechanically. Learning more each year. Yes, when I "tightened the prop" and removed the key. I then put the prop up on the shaft and marked where it was. I then installed the key, push the prop on as far is it could go, and then used a new nut to tighten it up to it's mark. I may remove it again to play it safe just to check. I'm still looking for an answer on the drive damper? Anyone, think I can rule that out?
