Hi,
Just joined. This is my first post.
I am a intermediate - advanced level recreational skier in my mid-50s. I just free ski fairly aggressively but never go on a course. For the last 10 years or so I've been skiing on an '06 Monza with HO Approach Bindings front and rear. For what I do, the Monza does quite well and my skiing has improved a ton since I got it.
This year, my ski buddy got himself a new Radar Senate Alloy ski with Radar Vector bindings on it. I tried it out and liked the bindings quite a bit and noticed they seemed stiffer and more responsive than the Approaches. The only thing I didn't like as much about them was that the Vectors weren't as comfortable underfoot as the Approaches because they don't have right and left specific footbeds like the Approaches do. So what I'd like to do is find a pair of newer bindings to upgrade to at the level of the Radar Vectors or a bit higher with asymmetrical fit. I don't want to spend a ton of money so I'd be happy buying new old stock binding from a previous year or buying used. I don't care what brand they are, just so long as they fit well to a narrow foot/narrow heel and use the old standard mounting system.
I've been doing a bit of research and am thinking about a 2016 or so Radar Profile binding as an option. Would that be a good one for my needs?
I don't know much about what the other companies models like HO, O'Brien, Connelly, etc. so I'd be interested to look at options there if anyone has suggestions for other company's bindings.
Thanks!
