  1. Hey ballers, got a quick question for all you. I have size 14.5 feet and am 6'3 tall. I have found that I ski my best with my front binding all the way forward (30.4 inches) and my back binding 1 hole back from all the way forward. I have a 67 inch VTX with dual XXL Animal bindings. I have got a few at 28 off @36mph, and I am getting better. Are my bindings actually far forward? When measuring a binding, you measure to the rear of the boot. But the rear of the boot is the same for a person with a size 7 or a size 14. The bigger your feet are the more forward your center is from the heal. Is there a relation to foot size and binding placement? Will having my bindings that far forward be a disadvantage once I start getting into 32 and 35 off?
  2. EcoBoost sounds great for a recreation boat, but would probably suffer in a ski boat. Zero off is constantly changing the rpm of the engine and that might be hard to do with a turbo engine that has turbo lag. Seems like it would be much harder to make quick adjustments for a skiers pull behind a boat when having to wait for a turbo to spool up. I would love to see ford's new 7.3 liter V8 put in a ski boat!
  3. This could be a dumb answer, but I would check you water intake to make sure it isn't plugged and overheating. Our boat gets clogged often and will sputter and loose power before the red overheating light comes on. Most likely you a fueling issue, but it only takes a second to check!
  4. Has anyone ever use a blue thread-locker like loctite to hold on their bindings? I had a syndicate A3 with dual animals and the screws would constantly come loose. Would a thread-locker work on a ski? Would it damage the ski? Could it be used on the fin? Thanks in advance!!
  5. There is no right answer. The best thing is to find a ski that fits your skill level and price range. Ski-it-again.com is a great place to find a deal on a used ski. Read forums and figure out what ski is good for you. HO CX/TX, HO Omni, and Radar Senate are some common skis that are great for beginners/intermediates. If you are a short-line skier, An HO A-series (A3 in particular) is also a great ski. Do your research and gets whats best for you!
  6. We have a course on a river with a decently strong current. We have tried everything and there is no perfect option. The best thing we found was 2 inch PVC filled with concrete that is 8 inches long with an I-hook in the top. This did the best of not getting tangled up in the cords.
  7. Hi! I am a member of the MSU water ski team and our team video maker Dean uses a Mavic Air and has had great results. Look at his YouTube channel, he has a few water skiing videos.
  8. Thanks for all the helpful input, these comments definitely cleared things up.
  9. Hello, long time skier and reader, first time poster. I am looking at upgrading from a 2014 Syndicate A3 to a 2017 VTX. I have heard great things about the ski's preformance, but I am unsure of the ski's durability. A close friend of mine had a failure on his 2017 GT and shattered both of his ankles. I am afraid of that happening with the binding spines of the VTX. Is the VTX a safe ski? Are they any reports of them failing? Why did HO stop making that design in the pro and alpha? I know @Horton has some experience with this ski and would be thrilled for his input. Thanks!!! Go green!
