  1. @ChuckD, so many questions: MRI scan? EMG of lumbar spine and right lower extremity? weakness of lower extremity, difficult to stand/walk on toes or heels? Atrophy of calf, glute or quads? Lumbar xrays; lateral neutral, lateral flexion, lateral extension done weight bearing? Pars defect, bilateral or unilateral is pretty common. If the L5 vertebra doesn’t translate forward or back more than 4 mm during the lateral flexion/ extension of the lumbar spine, the segment is not considered unstable. What grade is the spondylolisthesis, probably GRD I. The nerve pain in the leg, (sciatic) can be caused by several factors: obvious disc pathology, stenosis of central canal, stenosis of lateral recess or at the IVF L5/S1. However, another causation especially if skiing is the only thing that exacerbates it, could be increased inflammation at the disc site or the facet joint L5/S1. So back to questions: what have you done thus far? PT? Reconditioning the spine, hips and LE? Conservative treatment? Anti inflammatory med? Boost therapy, prednisone? Injections at the site? Spondylolisthesis is a complication of this problem, not the primary. Yes, if there is subsequent surgery, it will have to be dealt with especially if the nerve dysfunction is directly coming from L5/S1. Get multiple opinions, neurosurgeon preferably. Do your due diligence, ask questions, work hard with strength training, flexibility training. Good luck. Pursuant to your first question, if no complications post surgery (if you have it) you should be fine to ski.
  2. @MitchellM first, congratulations on your purchase. Lake Tenn. is awesome. You’re looking for a boat? My friend Gary has his 21 200 for sale now. He lives at the west end of the lake next to the awful aqua house. He has a new 200 coming in soon so he is very reasonable on his price. The lake ski great. Some nuisances on and off; gators of course, public lake but everyone seems to get along, glare early morning skiing which makes finding the buoys difficult, wind. Overall, awesome lake and people on it are 1+. good luck. Go see Gary. He also has a 2010 SN 200 as well as a 1998 SN 196. He’ll fix you up.
  3. @teammalibu so sorry I misread your post regarding the loose screws. I thought you were referring to the toe bar screws. I reread your post this morning before I skied. Good call by you, they both were loose. So now I will check all the screws periodically prior to skiing. honey moon period continues. Comfortable, user friendly and still feeling like the off side is better.
  4. Thanks for all the intel guys. I am in the habit of checking all the screws under the plate since i did this pretty often while running reflex. If i were to put a second toe bar on the plate, can someone suggest which one? The one made specifically for the front boot but being a second bar OR the toe plate that is made for the back boot in a double reflex boot set up. Thanks for advice.
  5. I finally made switch from reflex FB to the vapor boot. I’ve been skiing reflex since the first iteration. I am not unhappy with reflex. I’ve NEVER had pre release. All the equipment held up. I just got curious. Went to performance s&s last week. Bill and mike spent a ton of time with me trying different bindings. The vapor felt great. got the radar plate and put my reflex hardware on the plate. 3 sets in, already back to skiing my usual buoy count for this time of year. I do admit that the front toe region bothered me at first due to the sparse amount of boot under the toe bar. But so far so good. It’s really comfy and I really like the flat bottom. My 2/4 has actually improved. (Off side). my only concern…..I feel like the boa mechanism is the weak link. I’m skeptical on the longevity aspect of the knob and cord. ( low hanging fruit there guys) I do think I’ll look for a second toe bar. Not sure which one to get. I do recommend trying this set up.
  6. @LOTW it is a very special product only offered at Perf S&S. The strawberry is the best. Ask for bill or mike. Tell them i sent you. It’s a secret stash.
  7. So this looks like it’s been said and folks on BOS know this but, Performance S&S is amazing. Bill and mike spent almost an hour with me going over a new front boot for me. They both went way beyond expectations. Their customer service is excellent. Thank you so much to bill and mike. They even sold me some strawberry prop wash. Man this stuff is amazing. way to go Performance ski and surf.
  8. @MitchellM boat is solid. He’s the only owner. Got it new. Beautiful color scheme. Loaded. Well taken care of. Gary is a great guy. He’s getting a new one soon. His price is ridiculous on this boat considering market currently. Someone is going to get a gem at a wholesale price. @foxriverat yeah they are a great bunch of guys. I go down there 3-4x per year. Currently down here in Palm Coast. Skied with @scuppers yesterday. Man he has got a great set up. Beautiful lake and home. Gary’s boat is top drawer guys. He’s very motivated obviously by his current price.
  9. @bananaron Not the year your friend is looking for but my good friend has his 2021 200 for sale. SIA: 66679. Boat is fantastic boat. Well cared for. His new one is coming or perhaps already here and he is motivated. He’s down to $69K. For a couple grand more, get newer boat with less hours. Color scheme is gorgeous. Check it out. Good luck.
  10. @Cnewbert sorry for so far away. But you get the ideal. Good luck.
  11. @Cnewbert absolutely 1+ on the drying out of the boat. I lift the engine cover too so that the heat is released from the engine box. I will try to send picture later today.
  12. @Cnewbert I have one. Best thing I ever did. The first month I got it, as I was walking back up to the house after skiing, “should have got this cover 5 yrs ago”. Yeah it’s expensive, but the time I save putting the boat away and getting ready to ski is valuable time. It covers all the way down past the boat, so no sun is able to hit the gel, no need to cover the boat with your other boat cover or waterline cover, keep rain out much better than other types of covers and it just looks “better” than gray waterline cover. I live in ohio. I am actually thinking about keeping the boat on the lift this winter since I have the Touchless cover. Winterize the boat, put on the old waterline cover I was using, secure it down and then put the Touchless down. I’m thinking about it……not sure if I will but kicking it around. Hope this helps. Good luck.
  13. @rico “Thoughts”? As I stated in an earlier post. This is a consequence of our recent culture. 10 years ago someone threatens someone in an argument or debate, NBD. If you look at someone cross eyed these days you’re getting punched, sued or shot. If you sneeze in a public place, folks scatter like cockroaches when a light is turned on. If you say something in joking at work, your butt is fired. I do agree a public statement is in order. This would eliminate all the speculation and offer insight as to the legitimacy of the ban. I do not get any indication this is sponsor driven. In our small community that type of small thinking could damage sponsorship loyalty for years to come.
  14. I have skied and owned both. Goode WR is amazing ski. There is a whole discussion on the WR on this site. Easy to ski, stable, turns like a mofo, effortless, sets angle and goes. I have run deep into 38 on WR at 34.2. Senate is a good ski but b/w the two, I’m going with WR every time.
  15. @lundberg: “who’s going to help me?” NASA? Space X? Elon Musk? Good luck.
