Thanks @Horton for the overview! As someone who is new to the sport and doesn’t quite fit the demographic - I believe there are opportunities to attract other new skiers. For me the ease of booking a set online, showing up at 8.30am skiing with a great coach and being in the office by 9.30 am (without worrying about putting the boat in the water/finding a driver/spotter etc) is of great value. I’m a novice skier but love the exercise and adrenaline that each set gives me. We just need to find a way to communicate all of the positives of the sport to others who don’t even know this opportunity exists! Merry Christmas to all!

So....I skied the slalom course for the first time today ?. After months of being soooo close ....today was finally the day. It’s all thanks to Wim Decree, Ed Hickey and all of the other members at Hobe Lake Ski Club who have been so full of encouragement and support since I joined in February. Trading the old HO Triumph for a shiny new Radar Senate Lithium surely helped too! Hoping to inspire anyone out there who thinks they can’t ski the course - If I can do it anyone can!

I am super thankful for Wim Decree and Ed Hickey at Hobe Lake Ski Club! In February of this year I was driving down the road and saw a Nautique banner hanging on the gate of a ski lake a few miles from my house. I found their website and have been skiing a few sets a week since then. At 40 years old and after a 15 year hiatus there have been some ups and downs but Wim has been super patient and is an excellent coach! Ed has done a fantastic job developing and running the club and sets the tone for each and every one of us to do better each set! Now my husband is hooked too! ?

Does anyone know if there a ski school near Mackinac/Cheboygan/Harbor Springs that we could ski when visiting next weekend?
