  1. 3/4 of the Wednesday night crew (no Ken) made our March debut yesterday. We free skied lake Goodwin with special guest Dr Stacey. Air temp mid 40’s water temp low 40’s. Water conditions varied throughout the afternoon with it being flat enough for Doug to do some long line footin to some mild chop. All in all another great day on the water skiing with friends! Went to @Rednucleus house afterwards for drinks, appetizers and dinner. Thanks Loni for the lasagna and ice cream pie. Next week another new lake adventure stay tuned cgur3lx7m24y.jpeg

  2. @Stathis Ventouris if this post was from @skialex he would be getting his fourth lake Curlew panda but I will give you a pass ? our weather is supposed to warm up to 50 tomorrow so 3 out of the 4 Wednesday night crew will be skiing lake Goodwin (no Ken☹️) looking forward to the first ski of March plus @Rednucleus wife is going to make us dinner ? can’t get better than that. Will post pics of our adventure later this week
  3. @PeterAK the Jegs heater has 2 nipples that the hoses coming from and returning to the engine slip over just use a standard hose clamp. I bought heater hose from an auto parts store and the fittings coming out of the engine I got from a local hydraulic hose shop. You could probably find them online too. Good luck. Let me know if you need pics of the connections
  4. No skiing for us up here in the PNW for awhile. Air temps in the upper 20’s with snow☹️ and rain in the forecast for the next week. Maybe by the end of next week the weather will cooperate and we can get back on the water. For now all I can do is read about all the Florida ballers skiing in shorts and rash guards☹️ and only dream of warm weather
  5. Since no one else has started a skiing In February thread here goes.

1/2 of the Wednesday night crew free skied and barefooted Big lake today(no Ken or @Rednucleus ☹️) air 46 water 40 sun was shinning a few clouds and no wind made for pretty good water conditions. Skied 4 sets while Doug footed once and skied once. Had the lake to ourselves if u can believe that? finally got a one day break in the weather supposed to be nasty the next week or so.

Doug just received his brand new custom made footin suit that he got to try out don’t know if the pics show it clearly enough but he has his business logo printed on the back “Lemley Chapel” and his name plate on the front says “the footin mortician” yes he owns a funeral home

Stay tuned for more of the adventures of the Wednesday night crew

Hopefully we will be back at full strength soon just not the same skiing without the the others5sytfsz3703g.jpeg

  6. Don’t know if this topic has ever been discussed on this forum but since I have been following the BOS forum I haven’t come across any info about it.

I know some people ski in salt water. I saw a couple of Flow Point episodes by @MarcusBrown where he is skiing in Hawaii and in Baja.

Up here in the PNW we have a great choice of fresh waster lakes and rivers to ski on but the Puget Sound is only a stones throw away. This is a huge body of salt water with many islands throughout it. I myself commute from the mainland by ferry 4 days a week to 2 of the San Juan islands for work ( Orcas island and San Juan island) there are many inlets around these islands that are protected and are usually very skiable. I have also seen whitecap conditions but u also get blown out on fresh water lakes too.

What I am getting at is

How does skiing on salt water change things?

    Does the fin setting change?

    How about binding placement?

    Length of ski?

Has anyone skied the course in salt water that can tell us what if any the difference is between that and fresh water?

    Does it affect your PB?

These are just some random thoughts that I came up with while staring out the window on my hour long ferry ride back to the mainland this afternoon

Maybe I am way off and will have to give myself a lake Curlew panda for this post...but then again?

  7. I am about to give all you Florida people a lake Curlew panda courtesy of the Wednesday night crew. Complaining about water temp below 70 in the winter. Try skiing up here in the PNW this time of year with waster temps in the low 40’s to upper 30’s and air temps about the same. I bet u guys hardly ever wear a full wetsuit let alone even know what a drysuit is? Come on global warming???
  8. The Columbia river in eastern Wa not a lake but with all the dams on it the stretches between the dams seem like lakes. You can ski 40-50 miles between dams and the water in the summer time can be like glass for miles. Usually run out of energy before running out of good water. There are even a couple of courses around Entiat. My family takes an annual week long vacation to lake Entiat (the water between Rocky Reach Dam and Wells Dam) every summer. One of the best weeks ever right up there with the Wednesday night crew’s annual trip to lake Curlew. Another great ski lake in eastern Wa
  9. Well the Wednesday night crew minus @Rednucleus finally got our first ski of the new year in today air 34 water 42. Beautiful sunny clear day on Big lake. The weather has been crappy since the new year and today we got the break we had been waiting for. Finished things off with some hot chocolate, dried fruit and a few bowls of 5 bean soup? The weather looks iffy this week with the “S” word in the forecast ☹️ We will

be back at it as soon as the weather breaks again1rkuu6mez6hw.jpeg

  10. Here is what I use in my boat garage. 1/2” pvc pipe holds the skis and wakeboards. I put up 2 dowels for hanging vests wetsuits and gloves and have a fan pointed in there direction to help dry them. Also mounted a pulley system in the ceiling to hold the tower when not on the boat which is 99% of the time. Also a couple of pvc pipes to hang up the ropesxtifilehf2wy.jpeg

  11. Just finished bottling 15 gal of hard cider. Have 10 apple trees that we make fresh cider from each fall and save 15 gal for hard cider. This year’s flavors are: strawberry/raspberry peach/pear and of course straight apple.

Made 6 cases worth of 12oz bottles.

Our press is over 100 years old and still performs great!qa29q4u0tix7.jpeg
