@dammeyer11 We've got a permit for a course on Walled Lake that I believe will be out this year. No public launch w parking, but PM me and we could work out parking if you needed. I've got an 88 PS for sale too if you're thinking to go that old.

@ALPJr I am a big fan of the silver flake boats! @MISkier We looked at sourcing an LT-1, but the seller wasn't able to locate some pieces at the moment. So, just a new long block for the 350 TBI and I'll take the savings to join the ski club again this year. That will better my skiing more that an upgraded engine anyways. ;) A friend on our lake has considered a ZO upgrade for his '91 PS though!

Love the 25,000th hull! I've always liked the look of the TTs too. Ours aren't anything as exciting as some of these, but we've enjoyed them. New engine going in to the '94 this weekend and we're closer to being back to one boat (if anyone is in the market for an '88)! Ignore the garage mess - it was a tight fit to get them both in for the winter.

@slow @teammalibu It's really not hard to beat the erg, I rowed 4s/8s with a college club and a flat morning with a good set was great. Did either you have experience with singles prior?

@tjs1295 I wish I could say he had - we were in Houghton/Tech Trails for a while and loved it, but now we have a 2.5k manmade loop when it is cold enough. You're lucky with 9 mile. It's a nice visit after trying to train for a birkie/korte on our loop downstate!

@tjs1295 My husband is a nordic skier originally from outside Wausau and I know there was recently a Faster Skier article titled "Why is US Nordic Skiing so White". My other big hobby is horseback riding and over this last summer I've seen a number of publications discussing diversity and inclusion there too. I don't think it's unique to water skiing. In both cases, I've seen people break it down into culture, economics, and location. For the most part, these sports just aren't something you stumble into and, even if you do, there are barriers to committing. Not to say they cannot be overcome - it just takes someone with a real interest to follow through on that.

@Andrew11 Very cool, my fiancé's family is in the Edgar area - I'll have to remember that course if we ever tow our boat back to his parent's place. Hey guys, I'm Claire - I'm in my 20's and from lower Michigan, moved back home after college again too. I grew up skiing behind someone else's boat for one week each summer while on vacation and caught the ski bug there. I purchased a 1988 Prostar with my first paycheck last summer. After messing around in the course at Bennett's a few years ago and playing around with one at a local lake I was really interested in having a way to gauge improvement in my skiing. I've been skiing with a local club this year and on a good day I can finish most of my passes at 28 - a really sloppy 30 has happened a few times. I also picked up a trick ski off of SIA for the rough public water days, but I'm only at a side slide for now. I enjoy reading everyone's technique discussions here - I've been very lucky with great people at the club offering tons of advice this year so I'm excited to see where I can go in the course from here!

That sounds a lot like White Birch Lodge on Elk Lake, north of Traverse. https://www.whitebirchlodge.org It's where my entire family learned to ski! They're unlikely to pull a kid up before the age of 7. They're lodging only this year bc of corona, but generally they pull skiers 2x a day, tubing 1x a day, and wakeboarding every other day. Meals all prepared for you, a kids program during the day, and evening activities too.

@DaveD Elk Lake, just off the river on Meguzee Point. Water doesn't get much prettier in color and clarity!

What a beautiful spot, I really enjoyed the summer I spent in the PNW. Northern Michigan has always been my family's vacation spot, took this last week around 11am - we got really lucky with weather and boat traffic all week. Prostar ran perfectly too. :smile:

I appreciate the work into organizing some non-tournament events this summer and I will be there, putting the "novice" in novice night!

I'd agree with @6balls comment on the '87-'90 a '91-'94 hull. The newer hulls being a bit roomier and better on spray/wake. Largely the same driveline offerings, EFI wasn't standard till '94 I believe? We're in the middle of a move, so we had most of the skis in one spot minus classic/rock skis. Same state as @pregom sadly! The 2017 lyric was in this thread earlier, picked it up off of Shell last fall - hoping it's a more stable option than my F1. The EP came with the boat and is a nice extra for friends.

@swc5150 My fiancé proposed on the boat when we tripped up to the UP, so he says the same! Always gives me a tough time when I suggest we upgrade to a mid2000s 190 one day. Nothing important this one doesn't handle well for us.
