  1. @lundberg Yes I am noticing the width is an issue, which is leading me down a secondary path. Thinking of building a seat that effectively matches a prostar 190 and have it overhang and use a support on the right side. Then for a seat back in the walkway, figure out how to have it on a hinge like a PS197.

I might be making it more of an issue than it really needs to be, but I think we are really going to miss the big bench seat that we had in the stars and stripes. Its my one issue with the 205.

  2. I am about to start building one after scouring the internet for a pretty long time searching for a jumpseat for my MC. Figured I would throw this thread up to see if someone on the off chance, has one sitting around or one they would be willing to sell. As far as I know, they were a factory option, but not often selected. I think it would be easy enough to build, as others have shown over at Teamtalk but I would rather have the OEM solution if possible. Honestly the big thing for me is that I just don't want to deal with the upholstery. I know its going to be impossible to match it.

  3. @brody and you just nailed why people associate BEV's with those darn dirty liberals! And made it into a political issue instead of a performance, engineering/development, and innovation one.

I'm not a green freak at all, but the innovation and potential is awesome with alternative fuels. Just so happens certain politicians make it their main focus to put the axe to fossil fuels & it drives the division amongst the people, which is a shame. They need to go about it in a different way. Especially noawadays when people get so uppity about literally anything political.

  4. @BraceMaker That is a super interesting comment and it makes a lot of sense. I used to do crossfit because it was just a fun way to work out, but after doing it for a year and becoming aware that the constant little injuries (that crossfitters basically take pride in pushing through) are not healthy and absolutely not worth it. I think if more people understood your sedation comment, they would seriously think twice about doing crossfit or any of the ridiculous BS they program into the workouts. Shoulder injuries absolutely suck.
  5. @DW Exactly, this is probably going to REALLY shock you, but this is for sure just a sensationalist 'news'/instagram thing. I'm fairly confident that the only time that ever happens is when a lift shuts down for issues during Christmas or something similar. Supposedly tons more epic passes sold, but I was in Vail last weekend with 7+ inches of fresh snow and didn't see a decently long lift line until probably 1:30Pm. And even then, I got on the lift within 10 minutes easily. I can believe that they sold too many passes and some days get pretty busy, but again, I think its mostly just an overblown social media issue. Stuff is expensive on the hill for sure. No one is stopping you from bringing a sandwich from home. My 5 day epic pass was $65 a day. I don't believe for one second that snow skiing is dying.

  6. @Mastercrafter At least you have one thing going for you, that you can just get your current shaft reworked instead of having a custom one built. Have you analyzed if you need to upsize it though, if this was originally a non-HO non-powerslot boat? I don't know the limitations of the 1" shaft.

If this was an OEM effort, I'm sure that weight shift would be a huge issue, but given this is a custom project, I'm sure you can find a way to live with the results. Assuming CG location on the engine fore/aft probably isn't much different than original engine (thinking most of the added weight is high on the engine), losing 3.5" to the rear might not be the end of the world.

  7. @Mastercrafter This is amazing. How did you do your driveshaft configuration? Custom cut, or did you just try to manipulate engine position to fit everything? Seems like you'd have to get really lucky for the latter to work for it all to line up and not cause some kind of CG or angle issue.
  8. @buechsr, I don't think that they are saying the parents pain and suffering is stupid, it's the fact that it wouldn't matter if it was $6.25 a year or $625k, they will feel exactly the same. The stupid part is that the lawyers get to *stern face* 'sorry for your loss', and immediately head to the bank to cash their check for millions.
  9. I think the biggest issue with the octane debate is the level of misinformation about fuel in general on public forums, facebook, reddit, etc. Everyone seems to turn into a chemist as soon as octane starts being discussed. I can't help myself from laughing at what so many people think they know about it. I'm not an expert myself, but I know enough about it to tell easily when a person is completely full of it.
  10. @bojans I don't know what fox river you used to ski on, but the Fox River that I ski on, I feel like there is constant imminent danger of hitting something. The river is very narrow, typically the first thing we do is make a run down and back scoping for logs and sticks and debris. Seems like we're moving stuff out of the way a high percentage of the outings.
  11. Many are resistant to electric vehicles because of how politicized it is (against their particular party). There are always solutions depending on the motivation, I can't wait to see what innovation happens to all these discussed industries within the next few years.

What's the cost of a Model S with 1000hp? What's the cost of the nearest gas supercar that comes close to that, over a million? Going to be awesome when one of the big three tow-boat manufacturers really steps up the electric game, nautique seems to be the leader for now.

  12. @ReallyGottaSki yeah people saying you need a 30-50k boat to have fun skiing is absolutely ridiculous. I run a 35 yo boat as well and have made a bunch of skiing friends in the area over the last summer. I definitely felt like a total outsider when we started showing up to ski, too but I didn't witness any of the bad gate keeping that I was expecting.
