  1. At least 10 passes, 6 days a week (beginner, so a pass still means 'trying to make the course'). Central FL. This morning water was 72, air 71. Water will start warming up again if the rain stops.
  2. The pink-and-blue Stealth gloves are called Mingo's. I'm using the Stealth heavy duty one and Like them a lot. I've never tried the Miami SN gloves though...
  3. They should give a consolation prize no the losers of the draw, a T-shirt or something with a print: "I could have had a nice ski, but all I got was this T-shirt".
  4. The risk of tearing up the course or your expensive underwater gear would be to high to use it in the slalom course. And for open water it might not have the range people need. Still very cool to see though. For kids and small wakes; I used a jetski for both of my kids until they started pulling to hard through the (very small) wakes to keep the thing straight.
  5. @LoopSki that makes sense. I was not going to lie about it... @bigtex2011 "oh dear" what? It is just a bad design, looks good but is bad for maintenance. I'm surprised they are doing the same on the new Prostar.
  6. How does the warranty work? I hit the dock and ripped the top of the first 't' off. The dealer replaced the whole thing for a cost of about $600. Should that have been warranty? The boat is two years old.
  7. I've used Clinchers and Masterline with the dowel strap for years without problems. But recently changed to regular gloves because I did feel they got slightly 'stuck' to the handle sometimes when letting go with one hand in the turn. Two weeks ago I had a fall in a turn where it threw me out front and twisted me (landed on my back). When I hit the water I felt this sharp pain in my arm and then the arm when numb, could not move it. I reckon my hand did not let go of the handle in time and jerked my arm back. The arm is back in use, but no skiing yet and I worry that this could have been worse with the Clincher type glove...
  8. My touchless cover is now 14 years old and has not had any quality problems. Being used up/down) almost every day, year round in FL. I had to replace the motor after 4 years due to a lightning strike on the dock (also blew a hole in the roof). And had to replace the canvas 4 years ago after it ripped during a hurricane. Keeps the rain and UV out. I do have to spray regularly for spiders, they seem to love it as well.
  9. JC, what do you mean with 'new' cell phones? I have an iPhone 10 and used it with Wakeye and the Ski-Doc on Saturday. Video was pretty good from the front facing cam, zoomed 1.5x.
  10. As most of the fog builds on the outside of the windshield, I guess Rain-X makes the most sense. I will give it a try. The heater option would only make a difference on the inside of the windshield ?
  11. We had the problem with the boat (2019 Prostar) during the winter months (Florida) and now in the summer when we go very early in the morning. Any products I can try to prevent the windows from fogging up?
  12. @Horton I was leaning more to using an RTP instead of another full boot of any kind. Of course that is only for people that are OK with having a 'loose' rear foot.
  13. Until about a month ago I did not even know it was a 'thing' to worry about. And then a skiing buddy put his arm through the handle which ripped the bicep muscle completely out of his shoulder. It was literally bunched up in a ball sitting in his forearm! Needless to say I, and another skiing buddy, now have a guard on our handles (FM).
  14. When the broken binding pictures were posted it was a bit confusing. But that has been cleared by later posts. Let's move on...
  15. What is the point of having a nifty release mechanism on your front foot while your back foot is still in an old-style rubber binding? Will that not make the rear foot/ankle more vulnerable? A rear toe loop seems to make more sense.
  16. Nicest 2021 I have seen yet!
  17. Stealth gloves, the heavy kind. Seven months of heavy use (shooting for 5 days a week) and no sign of wear.
  18. Kevlar liners. Ordered from Perfski.com. More than $3, but they last a long time.
  19. There used to be one on lake McQueeny. Last time I was there the jump ramp was still there but I did not see the slalom course. Gets crazy busy on that lake though.
  20. Personal taste; love the removable bow cover for the times we get kids out for fun stuff , love the pickle fork for the looks and the fact that my front dock fender bumps right in between the two forks if I dock it a bit hard.
  21. I have the 2020 Skymax and have the same problem. My problem was so bad that I kept a small screw driver with a float on the boat to pry in the thing to get it released. I hoped it was a specific problem to the binding I had so I replaced the lace and cinch under warranty but it has the same problem. Bad design. A simple design fix would be to make the release knobby stick out more so that you can actually put some force on it. I sprayed some white lithium grease on the cinch last week which seems to help.
  22. Old gloves would wear out in 3 months, these show no wear after 4. I'm using the heavier model of the two.
