  1. Ok thanks, I'll start tracing from the ignition switch to see if I can find a broken or corroded wire somewhere along the way.
  2. Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and just bought my first Ski Nautique a few weeks ago. It's a 1985 SN2001 with 680 hours on the 351 Windsor. It's a bit of a project. Had been sitting in a barn for several years when I picked it up, but after a few trips to the auto parts store, I have it running again. There is an ignition issue that has me puzzled though. The ignition switch is three position: stop, run, crank. I can crank the engine all day long and it won't fire, but when I let off the key, and the ignition goes back to run, the engine will fire. So I find that the only way to get the engine to fire is to crank it for 5-6 seconds, then let go of the key. As I let go of the key, the engine will usually fire. I thought, maybe it was a faulty ignition switch, so I replaced it. The new ignition switch does the same thing. Any suggestions? Thanks, James
