  1. My money is on you are over gripping the handle all the way down in the middle of your palm (I used to do this and can confirm it absolutely toasted my forearms). As mentioned above, you want the handle to rest basically at the first segment of your fingers, where your fingers connect to the top of your palm.
  2. My ski school coach put me on the Carbon V (I'm working on 30mph) and he himself rides a Carbon V into 35off/34mph if that gives you an idea
  3. Keep it up with the weight loss. In my experience, common errors/misconceptions causing failed deep water starts: - driver hitting throttle way too hard. You want a very slow gradual pull, probably slower than you can imagine. I always see skiers having this problem thinking they need a faster/harder pull but then having much greater success getting up with a slower softer pull. - vertical ski / weight on the back foot. This will result in a deadlift tug of war battle with the boat which you will not win. You want your body curled up into a tight ball, knees to your chest, and your back heel pulling up toward your butt to remove the weight from your back foot, putting ski at roughly 45 degree forward angle so that as the load from the boat increases you start going forward and upward. - bent elbows trying to pull handle toward you. Keep your arms out straight! After that it's an act of balancing on your front foot while curled into a ball until you gain enough speed to stand up. Good luck!
  4. @BraceMaker That is super interesting that you just have to deal with currents at Moomba. I wonder what speed the currents can reach at that site? I guess the athletes sign up knowing there is going to be some amount of chaos and chance involved. So essentially yes I agree with you, I am asking if the OffCourse has capability to grow or shrink the course to account for river currents and make the pass as if you were skiing on a still lake instead of a river. If I recall correctly the OffCourse has a mode where you can make the course 1.5x longer than usual, so I'm just curious if tuning the course to account for river currents was something Erik thought about or considered. Or maybe the river slalom skier use case is just a tiny fraction of the market so it doesn't make sense to complicate the product for this feature - which is totally understandable.
  5. @Mastercrafter @BraceMaker Unless I'm misunderstanding the technology I think we might be using a different definition of "right spot." My understanding of how the OffCourse works is it uses GPS speed to calculate the correct time interval to shoot out the balls. Thus if it shoots 1 ball every 6 seconds at 15mph, then when you go up to 30mph it will shoot 1 ball every 3 seconds. If I'm heading up river, and my GPS speed (speed relative to the shore) is 30mph, then my speed relative to the water (which is what matters to the skier) is 33mph. The OffCourse will shoot out balls at a time interval which would make an accurately measured course if you were going 30mph relative to the WATER. Except I am actually going 33mph relative to the water, so the splashes will end up further apart than they should be (by about 3/30 or 10%). And vice versa coming down river the splashes will be closer together than they should be by about 10%.
  6. @ErikBerghiller if I understand the technology correctly, the OffCourse uses GPS to set the correct length of the course regardless of boat speed. So, am I correct in concluding that if I used the OffCourse on a river with a 3 mph current, the course would be either too long or too short depending on if I'm heading up river vs down river? Is there a way to get the correct course length on a river with a current? Thanks!
  7. Woohoo! Now you just need a couple thousand more passes to get really good. Time to go to ski school!
  8. The Cast and the Curious since you have the underlighting
  9. I've just kept it at -15 personally
  10. did someone say free Radar stickers??!!
