  1. I noticed my ski locker shocks have lost their luster a bit recently and unfortunately the PN callouts/specs have rubbed off over the years and I cannot find what the strut is rated to. I know it’s a ~20in extended strut but the weight rating is missing. if I had to guess I think it’s a pair of 30-40lb struts. I know the design is common starting on maybe the 99 Response CB/LX until 2013ish so if anyones got struts with legible specs on it that would be great.
  2. I am looking to start putting a course in on my lake, it’s a public lake and there’s a couple places I am looking to put it. The most ideal place is running along a sandbar that’s about 1200 feet long. One end of the course will essentially be almost perpendicular to the shoreline while the other exits out into open water with the sandbar on one side. The only thing I’m concerned about and not totally sure on is how much run up/exit room I will need between one end of the course and the shoreline. This location is ideal as it means the course will not sit in front of any of my neighbors docks and is protected from “idiots” running over it but I need to know how much clearance I should be giving myself on the end.
  3. Thanks all for the insight, we picked up this very clean 2001 Response CB which is a pretty significant upgrade from our runabout I/o Volvo penta 3.0L and we’re very excited to get skiing behind it. Just doing my due diligence and getting some experienced input on this stuff due to this being our first direct drive.
  4. My family just recently purchased a Malibu Response and our current freestanding Shoremaster lift is set up for an I/O. I have an idea how to set the bunks up to safely drive on and off the lift for the direct drive, prop guard on the trailer to the bunk height for crossbeam clearance, and wide setting the bunks to allow some centering error. I’d like to get the boat on the lift in the same spot every time and I’ve seen some where the bunks angle towards the center and have some rise, would that accomplish the same as a bow stop? If possible some pictures of your set up on a freestanding lift would be great.
  5. It’s a club boat. I was told it was not used for the ski school, strictly ran through the course.
  6. If anyone has any thoughts on the benefits/risks of purchasing a boat that was used as the club tug for the last 3 years, I’d appreciate some input. I don’t belong to a club and I’m fairly new to the world of direct drive so I don’t know how these boats are treated at a club.
